INTRODUCTION
As the saying goes, "Literature is a reflection of our culture."
The uncommon treasure of literature has the power to
change our lives and broaden our perspectives on the outside
world. In many literary works, the characters serve as a
representation for the author's usage and their place in
today's society concerns.
Jose Rizal wrote a book called Noli Me Tangere about the
Spanish colonization of the Philippines and how the Spanish
treated the Filipino people. This book is full of symbolism and
real-life experiences that motivated the Filipino people to plan
a revolt against the Spanish colonizers at the time. In Noli Me
Tangere, each character has a certain role to perform in
Philippine society in order to work toward the emancipation
of the nation.

ETHICS AND CONCEPTS OF LEADERSHIP


Rizal may be regarded as the national hero who, through his
writings and ambitions, altered the course of history, but it
was his effective leadership that brought people together to
bring about change and moral awakening across the nation.
Here are some ideas and moral principles displayed by Rizal
as he was penning the book:
1. Taking risks and accepting leadership responsibilities - The
more your risks and duties, the larger your gain. Jose Rizal
wrote to a friend in 1887, who challenged him to write a
more serious piece about the Philippines. Rizal responded
by explaining the plot and characters of his work, Noli Me
Tangere:
2. Knowing your basic values allows you to grow and flourish
- Every day, every leader in every business takes hundreds
of decisions. Your own values and views will be reflected
in how you operate your business. To be a successful
leader, you must understand why you do what you do.
Your values must be in line with the aim you wish to
attain.
3. Inspiring and inspiring others to accomplish better -
Effective leaders are able to motivate others to take
chances, tackle difficult problems, and innovate.
Compared to team members who are only engaged to
work and conform, those who are inspired are more self-
driven and motivated to produce.

CONCLUSION
Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere challenges us to reflect on our
attitudes toward and deeds in support of our country. The
moral of the story, which is still relevant today, is to promote
nationalism and cultivate an acceptance of change in
ourselves. We must support our country by obeying the law,
preserving Philippine culture, and comprehending the real
purpose of the nation by working together to make it better. It
teaches us the value of wisdom, defending justice, and love
for our country. This book is being taught in schools to instill a
love of country in pupils and to provide them with the tools
necessary to be the change-makers that will stop history from
being repeated. Jose Rizal wished for us to be true Filipinos
because only when we are aware of who we are and what our
true goals are, can the country advance.
