Question 5:
Give an overview of the following importance of consultation on and communication about
WHS hazards and risks.

ANSWER:
Consultation is a two-way conversation that occurs between the management and the team
members in which both listen to each other, issues are addressed and discussed,
perspectives are stated, and team members' ideas are taken into account before any
choices are made at the workplace.
It is critical to prioritize consultation during the hazard identification or risk assessment
process. Workers' collaboration will be obtained and dangers will be reduced if they are
consulted when finalizing these processes.
An effective consultation has several advantages. These might include:
• increased awareness among team members.
• increased commitment from team members since they will have a better understanding of
what is expected of them.
• Employees will be willing to work together to achieve the required results.
• A healthy working atmosphere with excellent interactions among all employees.
