Sample Profiling (All About You)

This is a sample profiling of a general engineering / MBA student. Please change it as per your own story. The
words you use should be very simple and the sentences should be very generic. Please DON’T use any word
or line copied from films, books or other celebrity profiling.

Ques-1 : Tell me about your childhood and upbringing ?

Ques-2 : Tell me about your studies and academics ? What kind of student are you in the class ?
Ans- I was always an above average student throughout my academic career. I scored more than 7.50 CGPA
in class 10th and onwards. I got 95/100 in physics in class 12th. I did my SSC in Kota, RJ and was preparing
for JEE as well. I cleared JEE Advanced and was selected in NIT Silchar. Here at NIT S also, I am always in
the top 10 of the class. I don’t have any backlog and I have good friendly relations with our profs. I spent lots
of my time in the Machine and Electronics Lab. I always like concluding the assignment and not leaving it in
the middle. Overall, I am happy with my academic performance so far and trying to keep it up.

Ques-3 : Why did you choose this field of study ? Any particular reason ?

Ans- I was interested in becoming an engineer from childhood, as I saw my father and his colleagues
working on projects makes me excited. My father is a civil engineer and I got to know about the core and
non-core engineering fields. I selected Mechanical Engineering because it's a core branch and I think this
branch can give me the real work satisfaction. I understand, nowadays students rub behind CSE /IT and ECE
and I also think about it and did a small analysis and found out that it might be tough in ME but eventually I
can grow and enhance. I am fully satisfied with my branch and I have no intention to switch to software or
marketing fields.

Ques-4 : What are the professional / corporate / vocational training or visits you did during your
degree ?

Ans- I did quite a few training and visits during the last three years. As a ME student, I have interest in
machines and hence I visited Hydro Electric Power Plant, Thermal Power Plant, Steel Plant, 132/11 kV
Transmission and Distribution SS. I did basic training on AutoCAD and CATIA. I did some corporate training
and workshops also to improve my communication and soft skills. I did whatever is required as per
academic curriculum and as per my interest to enhance my knowledge.

Ques-5 : Have you done any internship ? Any corporate exposure you have ?
Ans- Yes, I did two internships in different firms. One was with TVS Motors which was about 6 weeks, where
my task was to do the inspection and observance of the assembling unit of TVS Motors plant in Chennai. I
got to learn a lot of new things about manufacturing, assembling and OEM. I didn’t get any particular mentor
for the internship but overall support from the staff was really good.

Second one was with Vardhan Consulting Engineers, its an engineering and management consulting firm for
energy sector projects. The internship was about 8 weeks, where my task was to do techno-commercial
analysis of electrical vehicles in India. I got a mentor here, who was the lead consultant of the firm. I made
an internship project also, on case study analysis of electric to-to in India. WEven though this internship was
an online internship, the experience was very enriching. Bothe the internships provided me lots of corporate
exposure and I got to learn new terminologies and different ways to interact with other individuals.

Ques-6 : What skills do you have, which you think will be useful for us ?
Ans- I have good academic skills, the core technical knowledge of ME. I am good at AutoCAD designing. I
am a good communicator (both verbal and non-verbal). I have experience in making corporate standard
reports and hence good in searching and analyzing and making reports with proper formatting. I feel a
connection with machines and can work in any on-site assignment. Overall, I think I am a problem solving
and solution providing guy. I can contribute to your organization in many other ways.

Ques-7 : Do you like sports ? What are the sports you play and What you follow ? What do you do to
make you mentally, emotionally and physically fit ?

Ans- I play cricket and follow it also. I like Dhoni and my all time favourite is Sachin. I don’t play but follows
european football league and my favourite club is Man U. I do gym and jogging, I am not very much into
yoga. But I am a spiritual guy and listen to motivational songs and speeches when I feel down. I have my
ways to keep myself fit for any role. I can control my aggression and anger in any circumstances.

Ques-8 : What are the non academic extra activities you have done ? Share your experiences.
Ans- During my school time in KV Bhilai, I participated in many Science Exhibitions, Social-Science
Exhibitions, Quiz, Debate, Skit / Play and always got appreciation. I once played Kabbasi in KVS Regional
Meet in Raipur. In college, I participated and organised many technical and cultural events. I am the core
member of the team in organising events and also a member of the training and placement cell.

Ques-9 : Do you like travelling ? What places have you travelled till now ?

Ans- Yes I love travelling. When I was a kid I travelled a lot with my family. We usually take summer holidays
and go to almost all religious tourist destinations across India. But nowadays, I love solo trips and
sometimes trips with friends. I also have a travel bucket list which also includes international destinations. I
have a passport but have never travelled abroad.

Ques-10 : Are you an introverted person ? How are you in people’s management ?

Ans- Yes, I am NOT a very talk active person. I believe that excessive talking leads to spoiling of
relationships. I have a good sense of humor and take the things as it is, never exaggerate or underestimate
any situation. I am sincere, punctual, honest, truthful and loyal. I respect women and elders and never
demeans anyone. I am a good listener, always encouraging others. I am more realistic than optimistic. The
people around me find a good friend and an interesting company to hang out with. I am a good team worker
but also possess some leadership skills. Overall, I think my people’s management skill is satisfactory, I am
just 21 year old and hence learning new tactics everyday about how to manage people.
