*The drill will start with the occurrence of general alarm having 7 short blasts followed by 1

long blast.

(Public Address)

Master: Attention all hence X3………….This is a drill X3……….The vessel is in danger of capsizing, prepare
to abandon ship. Evacuate all areas and proceed to the starboard muster station.

Master: 3rd officer, send a distress call to a coast station and request assistance from ships in the vicinity.

3rd officer: Yes sir, pushing distress button 3-5 sec to transmit

3rd officer: Mayday X3, this is modern vessel Neptune leader, call sign 3 foxtrot uniform victor 4 mmsi
35707900, in position 32 degrees , 00 minutes north ,143 degrees ,00 minutes east, I’m in danger of
capsizing, I repeat I'm in danger of capsizing , over.

*Master Informing DPA

*At muster station doing roll call

Chief Mate: Bosun, AB 1, AB 2, OLR1, Chief Engineer, Fourth Engineer, Second Mate, AB3, OLR2, OLR3.

Chief Mate: 3rd Engineer what is your duty and carrying things?

3rd Engineer: Shutting off ventilation, carrying things sir, lifeline.

Chief Mate: Ok man, you already know your assigned duties and carrying things, now check your life
jacket lights and whistles.

Chief Mate: Bridge, this is lifeboat number two reporting, all men accounted for with complete carrying
things, life jacket lights and whistles has been tested. All are in good working condition. Over

Master: Roger, chief mate, prepare to swing out lifeboat.

Chief Mate: Man find your assigned duties, Proceed.

*Preparing lifeboat

Chief Mate: Ok men remove overlashing, secure painter line, and prepare for lifeboat launching.

2nd Mate/Bosun/Chief Engr/Fourth Engineer: Yes sir

Bosun: AB1, install fall preventive device

AB1: Copy Bosun

Bosun: AB2, remove overlashing wire and secure painter line

AB2: Copy Bosun

Bosun: AB1, unlock forward and aft davit arm lock

AB1: Copy Bosun

Bosun: Chief Mate, overlashing is being removed and painter line is being secured. Over.

Chief Mate: Copy bosun

*Inside the lifeboat

2nd Mate: Ok men fasten your seatbelts and oiler 1 close the bottom drain plug.

Oiler 1: Copy sir

2Nd Mate: Also men while they are checking lifeboat engine, please check your lifejacket,whistles and
lifesaving appliance again.

*Starting lifeboat engine

Chief Engineer: Fourth Engr, set the battery and check the fuel oil
Fourth Engr: Copy Sir

Chief Engr: 2nd Mate, switch on the lights

2nd Mate: Copy chief

Chief Engineer: AB1, test the search light

AB1: Copy sir

Chief Engr: 2nd Mate, wait for the glow indicator to go off before starting the engine

2nd Mate: Copy Chief

Chief Engr: 2nd Mate test the lifeboat engine’s ahead and astern propulsion and its rudder.

2nd Mate: Copy Chief

Chief Engr: Chief Mate, lifeboat is ready to launch.

Chief Mate: Bridge this is lifeboat number 2 reporting, lifeboat is ready for launching sir. Over

Master: Copy, swing out the lifeboat.

Chief Mate: 2nd Mate swing out the lifeboat.

*Lowering lifeboat

2nd Mate: Copy sir, pulling the remote control wire to lower lifeboat. Ok men brace yourselves.
