 Identify a successful school. Find out what are the contributions of that
school in the community.

-MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY.

Is the only university in the Philippines with the specific mandate of integrating cultural c
ommunities, particularly Muslims, into the mainstream of the nation's socio-cultural and
political life by providing opportunities for quality and relevant public education for self-
development, as well as trained manpower skills and technical know-how for the econo
mic development of Mindanao. Also Mindanao State University done a noble
contribution to nation building for advancing the education of Muslims and other
indigenous groups in Mindanao.

 The school traditions as well as the culture in your school.

-The university has a mandate to integrate the Christians, Moros, and Lumads of
Mindanao.

MSU is an affirmative action policy tool for the multiculturalist integration of Muslims and
other cultural minorities into national life.

MSU is a policy tool designed to help Muslims and other minority cultural communities
catch up with the country’s more advanced regions.

MSU has a mandate to promote peace, with the majority of its campuses located in
conflict-torn areas of Mindanao. In order to attract young Muslims, MSU campuses are
expected to compete with MILF, MNLF, and ASG camps. Furthermore, due to their
location in conflict zones, some MSU campuses (particularly MSU-Marawi) require an
adequate number of security personnel; and

The majority of MSU campuses are residential universities with high maintenance and
operating costs.

ACTIVITY 3

 Think of what administrators, teachers, and students could do to build

successful schools.

•Stay focused on earning respect rather than gaining popularity.

•Set specific objectives.

•Act as a role model.

•Give helpful criticism on a regular basis.

•Make your meetings count.

A successful school must first provide a safe environment for students, both physically
and mentally. It must be a welcoming environment where students and teachers from all
walks of life can concentrate on their studies. Fighting, bullying, and harassment must
be prohibited in halls and classrooms in order to maintain a safe environment.
Administrators that value diversity and welcome students from all walks of life are
among the best. The curriculum is delivered via a culturally inclusive perspective,
ensuring that lessons are relevant to all pupils or students. The culture of the school is
one of respect and tolerance. When a competent leader is in charge, students feel
secure and safe.
ACTIVITY 4

1.     How important is the basic education reforms in the department of

education?

Schools are community-based social organizations that offer the most widely available
officially organized instruction, which is anticipated to enable pupils to learn and hence
achieve their desired educational results, this reform is critical. If schools are to deliver
better outcomes in a sustainable manner, key stakeholders within the school and the
community served by the school must be enabled and empowered to manage their
school-level affairs in such a way that they intentionally and continuously improve the
link between their own efforts and the collectively desired educational outcomes. The
goal of educational reform is to change school systems in order to improve a country's
educational quality. Educational reforms need a thorough evaluation of their
motivations, intentions, implementation, and outcomes by people who work in the
schools where they are implemented.

2.     Are teachers’ leaders important?

Yes, because a teacher leader demonstrates honesty in all interactions with students,
peers, and administrators. In addition, they are reliable and can be trusted to produce
quality work and meet all the deadlines they commit to on a daily basis. Teachers that
are effective must lead their students. Instructors' leadership abilities are crucial
because they are a necessary component for improving the instructional quality of
teachers both within and outside the classroom.

3.     As a future teacher, how will you make yourself a leader in your own right?

I will prioritize listening over speaking and one day I will seek to understand different
points of view as an educator in the future. The teacher leader clarifies, drills down, and
synthesizes opinions and issues to understand the concerns and experiences of
others.

They are also excellent communicators. An important leadership skill for teachers is to
have these abilities.

4.     How do school leaders influence the members of organization?

Leaders have a huge influence on corporate culture. They set agendas, prioritize work,
manage, direct, and delegate. Strong leaders bring vision, purpose, mentorship, and
inspiration to those they lead. Today's diverse workforce is redefining what it means to
be personal and professional success. School leaders are essential in shaping school
culture. Principals communicate core values in their daily work. Teachers reinforce
values in their actions and words. Parents boost morale as they visit the school,
participate in governance, and celebrate success.
