3rd – 6th Hijrah


3rd Hijrah:
Battle of Uhad:
 Quraish had 3000 men.
 Muslims had 1000 soldiers (300 of them deserted Holy Prophet
(pbuh) under the command of Abdullah bin Abbay).
 Uhad is three miles north of Madinah.
 Holy prophet (pbuh) posted 50 archers to protect the pass at Uhad.
 Seventy Muslims were killed and 40 injured.
 Only 30 Quraish died.
Quran concludes about this battle:
“those of you who turned back
on the day the two hosts met, - it was Satan who caused them to fail,-.”

“What ye suffered on the day the two armies met, was with the leave
of Allah, in order that He might test the Believers.”
4th Hijrah:
Banu Nazir of Jews tribe was exiled from Madinah due to the crime of
plotting to murder Holy Prophet (pbuh) .

5th Hijrah:
Battle of Trench:
 Quraish had 10,000 men under the command of Abu Sufyan.
 Holy prophet (pbuh) had 3000 companians.
 Quraish withdrew.
Quran says about this battle:
“O ye who believe! Remember the Grace
of Allah (bestowed) on you when, there came down on you hosts (to
overwhelm you): but We sent against them a hurricane and forces that
ye saw not. But Allah sees (clearly) all that ye do.”
Banu Quraiza:
After the violation of the treaty in the battle, the Jewish law of Old
Testament. According to this law the men of Quraiza were killed, the
women and children taken as captives of war and their lands and
properties divided among the Muslims.
6th Hijrah:
Treaty of Hudaibiya:
 Holy prophet (pbuh) left Madinah with 1400 unarmed
companions in order to perform Umrah.
 The Oath taken at the Oasis of Rizwan is known as Bait-e-Rizwan
 Terms of treaty of Hudaibiya:
1. Muslims should return to Madinah that year.
2. They would be permitted to come for pilgrimage next year
but would stay only for three days in Makkah.
3. If a Quraish from Makkah should join the Muslims without
permission from his guardians. He would be sent back to
Makkah. But if a Muslim from Madinah went to Makkah he
would not be sent back.
4. There would be no fighting for ten years.
Holy Quran says about this:
“Verily we have granted thee a manifest
victory.”
