Attributes with Fill Tools
Introductory Message

For the facilitator:

Welcome to the Computer Science II STE - 8 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Changing the Object Attributes with Fill Tools.

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator, in helping the learners meet the
standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and
economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire
the needed 21st-century skills while taking into consideration their needs and
circumstances.

In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of the
module:

Notes to the Teacher

This contains helpful tips or strategies that will
help you in guiding the learners.

As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module. You also
need to keep track of the learners’ progress while allowing them to manage their own
learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do
the tasks included in the module.

For the learner:

What is It

Features of Fill Tools

Corel Draw provides preset fountain fills that you can use to simulate the
appearance of neon tubes, metal cylinders, and other real-life objects. With the
use of fill tool and interactive fill tool you can put life to objects.

Fill tool—this tool opens the fill flyout, from which you can
specify a fill color, type and pattern.

A fountain fill is also known as gradient fill or ramp fill is a

progression of colors through the Color Wheel that follows a linear, radial,
conical, or square path.

When you click on the fill tool it will display the flyout containing the fill color
types selection . See illustration below.

Fountain Fill

A fountain fill is a fine progression of two or several colors that add depths
to an object and it is also known as gradient fill and its show figure below. There
are four types of fountain fill: linear, radial, conical and square.

Type List Box

Figure 2. Fountain Fill Dialog Box

Fountain Fill Types:

Linear
Lets you apply a linear fountain fill, which displays a
progression of colors in a straight line.

Radial
Lets you apply radial fountain fill, which displays a
progression of colors in a series of concentric circles
that radiates from the center of the object.
Conical
Lets you apply conical fountain fill, which displays a
progression of colors in a circular path that radiates from
the center of the object.
Square
Lets you apply square fountain fill, which displays a
progression of colors n a series of concentric squares
that radiates from the center of the object outwards

Guide Question: What is the use of the four types of fountain fill?

9
The Interactive Fill
Interactive Fill Tool is almost similar to fill tool because it also add the
same fill but in an interactive way.

Interactive Fill Tool— lets you apply fills to the selected

object

Characteristics of Interactive Fill Tool

1. You can apply it on text and any shapes.

2. Apply it by dragging along the object then you will notice

that there is marquee line telling you the direction of color
transformation.

3. You can add color by selecting color from the color palette
and drag it going to the marquee line.

4. You can remove the added color by right-clicking on the

box.

5. You may also change the direction of gradient fill by

drawing the beginning or ending color box.
