wellbeing in the workplace. Emotional and mental stability has a significant impact
on the quality of work that is produced. There are many strategies that have been
used, but the most effective way is a pet friendly environment in workplace.
Bringing pets to work can be a great incentive. One person has stated that “The
benefit of bringing my pup to work is a much stronger pull than a larger paycheck or
a fancy corner office” (Text 3, lines 24 and 25). Lastly, millennials are the largest
demographic of workers (Text 3, line 28), it is crucial to apply the standards that they
are looking for in a career.
However, there are downsides. Research shows that “pets pose a genuine
contamination hazard and are best kept out, no questions asked” (Text 2, lines 27
and 28). 15% to 30% of workers in a company on average have dog related allergies.
“Some of these allergies are so severe that they cause rashes, temporary
breathlessness, panic attacks, and even severe respiratory disorders” (Text 2, lines
17-19). Although these are true, there are many ways to avoid them. For example,
individuals with allergies are recommended to avoid possible dangers.
Overall, this is why pets must be allowed in workplaces. A pet friendly workplace can
improve the atmosphere of workers, attract new employees, and improve
communication.
