emphasized the success story of the Brigada Eskwela. He was proud on behalf of
the school principal to announce the various activities conducted during the
Brigada Eskwela. The initial number of parent attendees at the start of the
meeting was 278.
The school principal gave the opening remarks to start formally, followed by
the president’s privilege to deliver her speech thanking the parents and the faculty
for the cooperation and support given to her in the previous four consecutive
years. Following her privilege speech, the school principal introduced the faculty
and staff. Then, Dr. Morales led everyone in reciting the DepEd Vision, Mission,
Core Values, and its mandate. After that, the faculty and staff rendered an
intermission number and enlivened the atmosphere of the gathering. The meeting
proper started right after the intermission number.
First on the agenda was the SPTA Financial Report. Mrs. Cabitay,
incumbent SPTA Treasurer, presented it. She disclosed the financial statement of
the parents’ contributions from the previous school year and the breakdown of
expenses covered by these contributions. After delivering a comprehensive report
of the last school year’s inflow and outflow of finances, the incumbent SPTA
treasurer underlined the importance of these contributions. According to her,
augmenting school funds will significantly help improve the learning environment
and safety of the school children.
Next on the agenda was the discussion on the school’s different policies,
which was given by Mrs. Christine Mae A. Galela, guidance advocate and planning
designate. Mrs. Galela started her talk with a wellness activity. Parents and
guardians were encouraged to join in a dance number accompanied by 1990s
dance music. After the dance, she specifies its relevance to the health and wellness
of every individual. Then, she started to talk about the most common policies of
the school, such as students’ punctuality, wearing of school ID and uniform, and
observance of prescribed haircuts for male students. She explained in detail about
RA 10267, the Anti-Bullying Act, and DO No. 83, s. 2003 which is the Prohibition
of the Use of Cellphones inside the Classroom. After the school policies were
discussed, Mrs. Alita R. Uriarte, the school ICT coordinator, presented and
reviewed the grading system in the new normal. She underscored that performance
task in most learning areas has a higher percentage than written works. She also
reminded parents and guardians to ensure that performance tasks must have
complied with as this will significantly affect the student’s final grade.
Then, Dr. Morales presented the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and the
Basic Education-Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan (BE-LRCP). He highlights
the school’s current efforts and plans for sustainability as he mentioned the
success stories during the Brigada Eskwela. Dr. Morales continued his
presentation interactively, giving time for the parents to interact during his
presentation. He also stressed the school’s transparency, which was only laid
down by helping every set of officers be capacitated to essential good governance.
In addition, he was able to remind everyone of the government’s expenses during
the modular distance learning, which he deemed emphasized the importance and
value of government resources.
Next on the agenda was the Open Forum conducted by the moderator. Mrs.
Gracelyn Albasin, a parent, inquired about the Bayanihan in the Gulayan sa
Paaralan. She suggested that those parents who could not come during Brigada
Eskwela would continue rehabilitating the school garden. The suggestion was
carried out and decided by the majority. A question was raised by Mrs.
_______________ asking about the schedule of the next Bayanihan in the school
garden. The school principal addressed the question, which was scheduled for
Tuesday, 30th August 2022. Another query was raised by Mrs. _______________
about the cash assistance. She asked what to do to apply for a benefit. The
moderator invited Mrs. Jamelo, a parent, to share her knowledge about the
application for cash assistance.
The moderator ended the assembly with a prayer and expressed the school’s
gratitude to the parents for their attendance and for taking heed of their
responsibility in actively taking part in their student’s education. The meeting
ended at exactly 5:05 in the afternoon.
