A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Physical Education 7

Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:

a. Identify the different samples of modified exercise program for playing


dual sports.
b. Appreciate the importance of modifying exercise program in playing
dual sports.

I. Subject Matter/Content
a. Topic: Modifying Exercise Programming for Dual Sports
b. Materials: Visual aids
c. Reference: Physical Education and Health 7 Teacher’s Guide
p. 111-115

II. Procedure

Motivation:
The class will have a quick recap on the things that they have
discussed in playing the different dual sports.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge


The teacher will ask the students the following questions:
a. Why is it important for us to exercise?
b. Should we have different exercises or training per sports? Why?
c. Should we stick with the exercise program all throughout our
training?
The teacher will relate the questions to the lesson of the day.

B. Acquiring New Knowledge


The teacher will explain on how they can modify exercise
programs for dual sports. She will present the tables containing
different variables used in exercise programming, and she will
explain it to the class.

C. Application
The teacher will ask the class the question below:
If you are a trainer or coach of an athlete, what will be your basis
on modifying the exercise program of your athlete?

D. Assessment
To assess what has been learned, the teacher will ask some
students to answer a question.
Why is it important for us to modify some exercise
program?

III. Evaluation
In a ¼ sheet of paper, the learners will write the meaning of the following
acronyms used in modifying exercise program.

1. RPE – Rate of Perceived Exertion


2. & 3. FITT – Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type
4. ME – Muscle Endurance
5. CVE – Cardiovascular Endurance

IV. Assignment
Read on how we can prevent injuries in dual sports. p. ____
