Before starting the module, I want you to set aside other tasks that will
disturb you while enjoying the lessons. Read the simple instructions below
to successfully enjoy the objectives of this kt. I Have fun!
1. Follow carefully all the contents and instructions indicated in every
page of this module.
2. Write on your notebook the concepts about the lessons. Writing
enhances learning, that is important to develop and keep in mind.
3. Perform all the provided activities in the module.
4. Let your facilitator/ guardian assess your answers using the answer
key card.
5. Analyze conceptually the post-test and apply what you have learned.
6. Enjoy studying!

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Last week, you have learned about how Asian arts influenced Filipino
and western artists through their various artworks such as paintings and
sculptures. This week, you will be introduced to the contemporary arts that
depicts Asian arts and styles.

Contemporary Arts
Contemporary art is usually defined as the arts that was made in 21st
century and forward. This art is the opportunity of the artists to reflect social
issues relevant to humanity and the world around us. Contemporary art is
also labeled as the “art of today” with a dynamic combination of various styles,
materials, methods, and subjects.

ACTIVITIES
Activity 1: What? Who?
This activity will let you be exposed to different contemporary arts from
painting, sculptures, installation, and many more. I want you to paste 5
pictures of contemporary art samples, their description, and artists. (See
sample below). You may place your work on a separate sheet of paper if the
space provided is not enough.

For this activity, you will have a little research about contemporary arts

REMEMBER
1. Observing the current events of the society will give you may ideas and
concepts about the contemporary art that you will make.
2. You are not limited to traditional art materials. Methods and materials
vary in creating contemporary arts.
3. Contemporary art is usually appreciated because of the visual
satisfaction it gives to the viewers so make sure that your art is
aesthetically beautiful.
4. Do not be limited to drawings and paintings. Your contemporary art
could also be sculpture, mosaic, collage, installation art, and many
more.

CHECKING YOUR UNDERSTANDING


For your performance task for this module, you will be creating a
contemporary art with Asian style and motif that you have learned from our
first module. Place your artwork to any paper not larger than A3 size. Send
the picture of your output to your teacher. You will be graded according to the
aesthetics of your work, elements and principles of arts applied, and the
message it conveys to the viewers. Let your teacher check your work from time
to time for comments and suggestions to make your work better.
