This lesson module covers key concepts of exercise physiology including: 1. Physiological Exercise which is the study of the body's response to physical activity and the changes in metabolism. 2. Aerobic Exercise which refers to physical activity of low to high intensity that uses oxygen as the primary energy source. 3. Anaerobic Exercise which involves short, fast, high-intensity exercises that do not rely on oxygen for energy. The module provides examples of aerobic and anaerobic exercises and assessments for students to demonstrate their understanding of the differences between the two types of exercises and their effects on the body.

TOPIC 1:
Philippine in Physical Fitness Test Values of Exercise and Physical Fitness
Factor that Influences Fitness
LESSON 1: (Introduction/Discussion of theTopic)

Physiological exercise when it comes to our mind. What ideas do you know? How far is
your knowledge about this topic? The purpose of this module is to learn about
physiological exercise and its response to our physical life. You would learn in this
module the different Aerobic and Anaerobic exercises that may help you to study about
other people and in your own life. You will also understand how your body works during
exercise and the changes to your daily life if you do this kind of exercise and how the
exercise will help your heart.

Pre-Test:
Direction: Identify the answer in the blank. Write the answer in the space provided.

1. ______is similar to Aerobic Exercise but uses a different form of energy-quickly

and,immediately.
2. ______maintain healthy body weight to reduce inflammation throughout the body.
3. Set short-term goals to achieve and maintain a healthy ______ and exercise routine.
4. ______ is the study of how the human body works. It describes the chemistry and
physics behind basic body functions.
5. ______ is a scientifically proven booster, decreasing symptoms of both depression
and anxiety.
6. ______ relies on energy stored in your body from carbs, protein, fat and the oxygen
you breathe.
7. ______ training can significantly improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, speed and
overall health.
8. Types of ______ is an Aerobic and Anaerobic exercise.
9. ______ it improves the muscles' ability to pull oxygen out of the blood, reducing the
need for the heart to pump more blood to the muscles.
10. _____ is associated with regular physical activity participation range from risk
reductions.

Task 2:
Direction: What are the differences between Aerobic and Anaerobic exercises (Essay).
Task 3:
Direction: Give some examples of Aerobic exercises at least 5 examples.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Post-Test:
Direction: Write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if the statement is wrong.

1. Anaerobic exercise involves short,fast,high-intensity exercise that doesn't make your

body use oxygen, like it does for cardio (or aerobic) activities.

2. Exercise psysiology is the study of the body's response to physical activity.

3. Aerobic exercise is not physical exercise of low to high intensity that depends
primarily on the Aerobic energy generating process.

4. Combining Anaerobic and Aerobic training can significantly improve cardiovascular

fitness.

5. Exercise has not many positive effects on heart health.

Assignment: Practical Activity.
Direction: Do a video presentation of at least 3 examples of Aerobic and Anaerobic
exercises.

SUMMARY: For Module 1 This lesson covers concepts of

Physiological Exercise- the study of the body’s response to physical activity that
include changes in metabolism.
Aerobic Exercise- is physical exercise of low to high intensity and refers to the use of
oxygen.
Anaerobic Exercise- Anaerobic exercise involves short, fast, high-intensity exercises
that don’t make your body use oxygen.
