Hello everybody!
We've just finished unit 1! Now it's time for you to do the task for this unit (TA01). I invite you to check
the instructions below and remember that if you need to review a topic, you can always check the
course material as many times as you need. Keep in mind that you have to present this task during
week 3.

At the end of the lesson, you and your team have a conversation about what you are studying, your
goals and ambitions by using want and would like to, and vocabulary from unit 1. Record yourselves
in a 3-5-minute video.
3. Description
Step 1:
Get together with a partner or a group of three.
Think of your college major. Each of you should write a list of important skills for your career
field and your ambitions using would like to/want.
Imagine you are a civil engineering student. Your list may be like this: For example:

Step 2:
Now that each of you has a list, create a conversation talking about your studies, skills, and
ambitions.
Make questions to get further information. Remember to talk about the plans of all the
members of the group.
Example:
A: Hey friend! What are you doing?
B: Hello there, I’m designing a plan to finish all my activities for the weekend. It is
important to be methodical to succeed.
A: You are right, especially when you are a civil engineer. You also need technical and
interpersonal skills.
B: Yes, after I graduate, I would like to work in a construction company.
A: What company would you like to work for?
B: …
Step 3:
After you finish creating your dialog, practice it to check your pronunciation and intonation.
