I. Scope of use and characteristics
The NE-type plate chain-bucket elevator is developed on the basis of its predecessor of TB –type
in combination of the imported latest technology in this field.It is widely applicable for upward
delivery of various objects,such as coal,sand,cement and ore.It is characterized by.
1、 Wide delivery scope,suitable for powdered,granular and blocky objects,an even large crude
articles of great abrasiveness.The maximum endurable temperature is as high as 250°.
2、 Less delivery power needed,owing to feed loading and gravity-induced unloading,which
reduces not only non-digging and inert work,but backward carried objects as well.
3、 Greater elevating capacity of up to 800m3/h.
4、 Long operation life span, owing to an inflow way of feeding and a high-strength,wearing
plated link hauling chain,which greatly reduces attrition wear caused by haling,extends its
operational life and postpones its major overhaul service.
5、 Stability and easiness inoperation,owing to the bent and pressed shell,which ensures the
rigidity of the complete equipment.Alarge platform for the driving section is designed to
provide convenience for operation and maintenance.
6、 Good leak tightness,owing to advanced design and reliable technology used for shaft
sealing,inspection door sealing and all the welded parts,which ensures the tightness of the
complete equipment and reduces environmental contamination.

Ⅲ、External Froms and Installation Measurements

Ⅳ、Struictural Components
A plate chain elevator of NE series include working parts,adrive device,an upper
device,middle shells and a lower device.
1、 Working parts consist of a high-strength sleeved roller chain and buckets models NE15 and
NE30 are equipped with a single row traction chain,and models NE50 to NE800 are drawn by
duplex chains.
2、 The drive device adopts the stand and design of direct connecting .Cycloidal pinwheel
decelerator and chain gearing thereby reducing its weight and size and improving its
operational reliability.Afairly spacious platform and an inspection rack are mounted in the
upper device.The user can also get access on demand to other models of decelerators which
are easy to replace.
3、 The upper device consists of a drive chain,backslide stopper,discharge port and upper shell
with tracks(in the case of duplex chains).
4、 Middle shells consist of standard bent and pressed shells with tracks,shells with a inspection
door,and other non-standard sections.
5、 The lower device includes a feeding port(with a gathering groove)and a tightening device
Model NE15 to NE50 are equipped with a screw tensioner,while models NE100 to NE800
adopt weight box for tightening puipose.

Ⅴ、Installation Instruction
A plate chain elevating conveyor of NE series is vertically erected,and
all of its weight is to be supported by the foundation, which therefore should
be inspected before installation begins.
The elevator is delivered to the user in separated components, which can
be assembled by the user by following the procedure below:
1、 Set anchor bolts according to the drawings,fix the lower device on the
base,and then adjust and align the base level(with flange face upward).
2、 Set up middle shells one by one upon the lower device according to
requirement,(for models from NE50 to NE800,one middle shell with tracks is
installed after every three standard sections).Flange connecting junctures
of the middle shells can be padded with rubber asbestos pads. When
installing middle shells with tracks,be alert to the width of the track
passage inside the shells.The narrower size indicates the passage for the
lifting side traction chain,while the wider size signals the passage for
the return side traction chain.
3、 Install the upper device after middle shells are installed and
calibrated.Usually,support devices are needed for the middle and upper
sections.The support should be firmly fixed to a nearby building in such a
way that the elevator can be free to extend or retract vertically.
4、 Install the driving unit after the upper device is installed.First connect
the platform in two pieces with the upper shell.Fix it with struts. Weld
the inspection rack and tailings onto the platform. Then install the drive
device,chain drive and sprocket shield. After the drive device in adjusted
and leveled, weld the base of the drive device firmly with the platform.
5、 Install the working parts,First set the tail shaft to the highest position
of the running range.Then at the inspection door of the lower section,draw
in the chain-bucket series that ate assembled in order of grade and
segment.Hang them up along the feeding side from under the sprocket of the
tail shaft until the assembly work is completed.
6、 Finally,install right and left halves of the shield, and set electric
circuit and safety protection device.
The eldvator installed must satisfy the following basic requirements;
1、 The foundation of the elevator must be firm and stable,all telative
positions should be correct in order to ensure that the bearing surface of
the lower device is kept at level position. Shell connecting flanges must
be tidy.No obvious displacement is allowed.The central line of the
equipment as a whole should be as close as possible to the same plumb-
line.The cumulative deviation of overall height should not exceed the value
prescribed in Table3(as shown in Drawing2)
2、 The parallelism depth of the basic shaft to the horizontal plane is
0.3%.The basic shaft and the tail shaft should be parallel to each
other,and the relative position of the upper and lower sprockets should be
aligned.The degree of malposition between the upper and lower sprockets of
the single row chain should not exceed the value prescribed in Table 4(as
shown in Drawing3),and in the case of the lower sprocket of the duplex
chains,the measured malposition on the lifting side should not exceed the
measurement given in Table 5(as shown in Drawing).
3、 The installation should let the tightening device have enough adjusting
range.After traction has been properly adjusted, The chain should account
for no less than 50% of fthe whole adjusting range.The chain should not be
towed too tight.NO apparent increased resistance should be felt in chain
when it is being turned manual.
4、 In case of duplex chains,the length error of the two series of chains
should be as little as possible.
5、 When all the above-mentioned requirements have been satisfied,retighten all
the blots,clear fragmental objects out of the elevator,and refill necessary
lubricating oil into all the oiling points.Now you are ready to start no-
load test run.

Ⅵ、Test Running
The elevator should undergo both no-load and trial run before it is put
into regular operation.
Without Loading Test Running
1、 Before the motor starts,check for moving direction.Makesure that it is
correctly wired without loading power should not exceed 30% of the rated
power.
2、 Observe the working of the bucket hauling chain and sprockets.Make sure
that moving parts do not bump or get seized by the fixed ones,that the
duplex chain series are functioning concurrently,and that no bucket skews.
3、 Check all the bearings for the temperature rise, which should not be more
than 60℃ in two hours of operation.Make sure that all the lubricating and
oiling points are well sealed.
4、 Check the decelerator for its functioning to make sure that here is no
abnormal sound or leakage.Check the drive chain for its tightness.For the
non direct-connnecting decelerator, make sure that the coupling is safe and
reliable.
5、 Check backslide stopping device and make sure there is no abnormal noise or
overheat phenomena.The backslide stopper should be flexible and reliable.
6、 Check all the fastening pieces to see if they are loosened,especially the
fixed bolts on buckets and chains.
7、 When without loading test running is finished with satisfaction,move on to
the stage of loading test running.

Ⅶ、Loading Test Running


1、 Load test run should be done in accordance with the designed conveying
quantity and the planned objects.The electrical control system should be
reliable. The motor,decelerator and backslide stopper should work and run
in a stable way.
2、 Under a uniformly feeding condition, the elevator should satisfy the design
conveying quantity without obvious recirculating objects or accumulated
jams.
3、 Observe the objects being conveyed to see if they are evenly filled in the
buckets.Check unloading work.
4、 Examine and evaluate the installation work of upper and lowwer sections.The
two chains should not skew.They should run with one and the same speed.
5、 Turn off the elevator repeatedly to see if the backslide stopper is
reliable.
6、 Check the overall stability of the elevator under operation with noise no
more serious than the criteria prescribed in JB3926-85.
7、 The length of test running time should be no less than 16hours.
8、 The equipment is to be put into formal operation after it is confirmed with
satisfaction that defects found in the run-in time have be removed.

Ⅷ、Operation and Maintenance


1、 The elevator is to be run by regular operators who should be assigned to the working post
after being given necessary training.
2、 Operational conditions,including characteristics of the objects to be conveyed,working
environment and conveying quantity,should conform to the requirements prescribed in the
user’s manual.
3、 The elevator using party should make Rules of Maintaining Service and Safety Operation for
the operating personals to abide by,and at the same time constitute a strict handing-over
system for carefully observing the running of different units.
4、 The object feeding should be even and equal so as to prevent the lower section from being
jammed and clogged.
5、 When the elevator is under operation, all the inspection doors should be closed, and the low-
voltage lighting units,installed at the inspection doors should be frequently turn on.Incase
breakdown occurs,the operation should be stopped at once correct it.When the breakdown is
not serious enough to influence the normal functioning,it could be removed during
maintenance time.
6、 While the operator should frequently examine the running of different units,it is absolutely
forbidden to do cleaning or repair service on the running parts when the elevator is under
operation.
7、 The operator should observe the functioning of the buckets and chains and timely adjust the
tightening devices installed in the lower section so as to ensure to the chains a normal working
tension.(In the case of screw tension,cap nuts should be reset after adjustment).
8、 Televator should be started under a without loading condition,and be stopped after feeding is
discontinued and unloading is completed.
9、 The elevator should be kept under normal lubrication in the working process. For lubricating
sites.Methods and time,see Table 6.
10、 The using party can stipulate the maintenance period according to the conditions of the
equipment.
