III. Procedures A. Daily routine (Preliminary Activities)
1. Opening Prayer- The teacher will call representative to lead a
prayer and students will stand up for the prayer.
2. Start with a greetings- The teacher will greet the students by
clapping hands and the students will response with the same manner.
3. Check the cleanliness of the room- The teacher will ask the students
to pick up the pieces of trashes and arrange the chairs before having
their seats.
4. Check the Attendance and Uniform - The teacher will go around to
check the attendance and uniform. If everything is settled Then the
teacher will ask the students (Are you ready class?)
Development of the Lesson
B. Motivation
I. Dance as if no one is watching
Purpose: To see how students create their own dance movements by
closing their eyes and by listen to the music in 2 minutes
Procedures:
 The teacher will ask the students how many of you here what
dance is and how many of you here loves to dance? Then the
teacher will show a quotations about a dance through a slide
deck presentation or by posting on the board the teacher will ask
from the quotation “Dance as if no one is watching” what comes
to your mind?
 After showing the quotations, The students are ask to stand up
and close their eyes, feel their body and imagine as if they are
alone inside the room and listen to the music attentively
 While they listen to the music students will create a dance
movement out of the music.
 And students will be ask, did you feel comfortable after doing
the dance while your eyes are closed? Why and Why not?
II. The teacher will show a pictures of different Philippine Festival by
posting on the board or by slide deck presentation and students will
answer through a word hunt.
STRATEGIES: WORD HUNT
PURPOSE: To activate student’s prior knowledge about the topic.
PROCEDURE:
 The teacher will post the different pictures of the festival dances
and will call random students to go to the board.
 Then the students will search a word in a word hunt chart by
encircling what is related to the pictures.

Affirmation: The students were able to give their answers, inputs, or


idea out of the activity and they have now an idea what is the topic all
about and they were now a bit motivated in doing the activities.

A. Activities: (English Before the activity, the class will divide into 4 groups by counting 1 to
Integration) 4 and will immediately proceed to their respective group and form a
“ 2 PICS 1 WORD small circle while sitting on their chair. Afterwards, The teacher will
instruct the students a merit board, The merit board will be one of the
basis of your scores at the end of the lesson Merit every time the
students were able to give outputs, ideas and correct answer and
demerits every time they misbehave and disobey the rules.
STRATEGIES: Numbered Heads
Purpose: A cooperative learning strategy that holds each student
accountable for learning the material by having students work
together in a group. It also to having students work together in a
group and ensures that each member knows the answer to the
questions asked by the teacher.
Procedure:
 Each group will be given a set of envelope with a scrambled
letters and strips of papers inside.
 Each student is given a number (from one to the maximum
number in each group)
 The teacher calls a specific number to identify the picture to be
posted on the board.
 The teacher will now post the picture on the board
 The students who were chose to answer shall wait for the signal
of the teacher to begin answering.
 The teacher will now give the signal by counting 1 2 3 go!
 Students can already begin answering by arranging the letters
and paste it on the strips of paper.
 The first group who finish arranging the letters into word will
post it on the board get the score for specific round.

B. Analysis Before the teacher will discuss thoroughly the topic, the students will
be asked if what is festival dance for them. Afterwards the teacher will
now discuss the topic. The festival dance/s are cultural dances
performed to the strong beats of percussion instrument by a
community of people sharing the same culture usually done in honor
of a patron saint or in thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest. But the best
thing about festivals is that they add to the merry-making and
festivities of a place where they are celebrated, the reason why they
are called festival dances after all. Festival dances draw the people’s
culture by portraying the people’s way of life through movements,
costumes and implements inherent to their place of origin.
Festival dances may be: Religious- Relating to or believing in a
religion.
Secular- activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual
basis.

After discussion students will ask to prepare for another activity.


Purpose: To check student’s analyzation based on the picture and
dances of the different festival by identifying Religious or Secular.
Procedure:
 Each group will be given a 2 placard Religious and Secular.
 Using numbered heads, the teacher calls a specific number of
students in every group.
 Then they will stand and proceed to the back area of the
classroom.
 The teacher will show a pictures of a festival and the students
who were called will raise their answer.
 Every correct answer of the group will score 1 point each.

C. Purpose: To know if the students understand and appreciate the

Procedure:
 The teacher will divide the large piece of paper into sections- 1
section per group member.
 Each group will draw a circle in the middle of the paper.
 The teacher will distribute a strips of paper where the group
member will write the answer once the teacher posted the
questions on the board.
 The group members will paste their strips of paper in their
sections.
 One representative will summarizes the answers of his/her
group members in front of the class.
These are the following questions:
Q1. How does festival dances affect our life?
Q2. For you, Does festival dances help you in enhancing your fitness?
Q3. How do you value the festival dances in your community?
D. Application Right after the discussion, students will be ask to conceptualize and
choreograph their own dance with three to five basic steps.
The song to be used is the “LA COPA DE TODOS” of Zamboanga
Festival.
IV. Evaluation Evaluation will be based on the student’s application. Students will be
graded based on their activity through rubric.
