PARTICIPANTS:
AMBROCIO, ALLAIZA YVONNE V.
BAYRON, REGINE D.
CORONADO, REBECCA O.
CUNANAN, DANIELLE MAE P.
DESPARES, JOANA MARIE P.
GEGRIMAL, KURT JENSEL
JUMALON, LAYCA A.
LLAMOSO, KIMBERLY P.

Guided Questions:
QUESTION1: Does your barangay do patrols every day and night?
BAYRON: “In our village, it’s their routine to monitor every day and night to go around
every street and to make sure the people are safe.”
GEGRIMAL: “Yes, and I think it’s a huge factor why there were no reports of missing
persons in our barangay.”
CUNANAN: “Yes, I always see barangay tanods in a car roaming around and
sometimes police cars.”
LLAMOSO: “Yes. Even before the pandemic started, I can already see barangay
tanods patrolling in our subdivision every single night. I feel safe because of that since
there are a lot of news that came out about kidnapping especially on females. It was
very alarming but I am glad we have security in our community.”
DESPARES: “Yes, they provided a mobile with tons of barangay tanods to make sure
the security of our barangay.”
CORONADO: “Yes, Barangay patrols or tanods are at the forefront of the effort to keep
peace and order in our barangay.”

QUESTION 2: What would be the best solution to lessen the cases of abducted
women and children?
BAYRON: “I think the best solution is to have an awareness program to educate the
people especially young women and children”
GEGRIMAL: “the community needs to set a curfew in order to lessen the cases of
missing persons. They can also install CCTV’s all over the barangay especially in those
secluded places.”
CUNANAN: “Police and tanods should always patrol every barangays. Every corner of
the street should have CCTV funded by the government and there should be at least 2-
3 people watching the CCTV 24/7.”
LLAMOSO: “I believe that awareness is a must for the public so that everyone will be
extra vigilant with their surroundings. The best solution I could think of would be through
working CCTV cameras all around the community as well as Baranggay tanods present
at all times especially at night where crimes and kidnapping is more prone.”
DESPARES: “Installing cctv cameras is helpful. Especially in crowded places like
markets and spots that are suspicious.”
CORONADO: “Put patrols on every street corner and make an earlier curfew for
women to go home early.”
QUESTION 3: what do you think are safety measures women should use if they
are walking alone in the street?
BAYRON: “Make sure that the street that they are walking to is have a street light and
have a few people. And be alert or vigilant at all times.”
GEGRIMAL: “Immediately run into a place where there is people, Women must have a
defensive weapon like, pepper spray or something that they can use to defend
themselves, Keep in touch with some of your family members on the phone so they can
know your current situation.”
CUNANAN: “Staying alert at all times in the street, not using earphones to hear and
feel the surroundings well, updating the family or friends, and lastly bringing weapons
like a taser and pepper spray that you can use if there is danger.”
LLAMOSO: “I think safety measures women should use around is by bringing
something that can be use as self-defense. Carrying a whistle would be useful since it
can alarm other people especially in times of danger, a pepper spray would also be an
option and a flashlight if it is night time.”
DESPARES: “Bring pepper spray or any spray that can help them distract the abductor.
Always share you location to your loved ones so they can trace you.”
CORONADO: “Carry a safety device with you whenever you leave the house, even if
you are moving nearby. Be it pepper spray but keep it with you at all times. It will enable
you to quickly communicate any danger situation to your loved ones.”

- The recommendation for

future safety precautions
that women should take
when out on the streets
alone is to remain in an
area that is adequately
illuminated so that people
can see them. If they have
to, run up to someone's
porch and hide behind the
porch light. If at all feasible,
move as rapidly as they can
into a well-lit, open area.
Ensure that both they and

stop and look around you.
Walk as rapidly as you can

securely at night, you can
either wait until you feel
secure or call a buddy, a
