TIPS
▪ Use good language (try to add a few words that carry
the theme of your story effectively).
▪ Use suitable adjectives and adverbs in your
descriptions.
▪ Try to avoid having too many characters in the story.
▪ Try to describe both the physical appearance and
behavioural traits of the characters.
▪ Add a dialogue or two, if needed.
▪ Divide your story into suitable paragraphs.
▪ Give your story an interesting title.

▪ Pen some good vocabulary. Good words can be
replaced by better ones. For e.g.
▪ Red ( colour) by Crimson or Yellow by Sunny golden
▪ Sad by dejected/ desolated/ broken-hearted/
miserable
▪ Happy by overjoyed/ glad/ pleased
▪ To describe a character’s voice, use words like gruff,
croaky, husky, breathy…
▪ Combed, crushed, dyed, frizzy, flowing, muddy brown
to describe hair…
▪ You can also sprinkle an idiom or two…
