Guidelines For The Preparation of Cost Estimates For Traffic Management

The document provides guidelines for preparing cost estimates and safety requirements for traffic management, road and bridge construction, and school buildings. It discusses personal protective equipment requirements and various signage needs, including temporary signs for roadwork. Guidelines cover general cost derivation steps, traffic management layouts, roadway dimensions and markings. Requirements for "Roadwork Ahead" signs include proper dimensions, placement, and materials. Detour signs must provide information about compositions, costs and symbols. Traffic control devices used at worksites must be durable and visible at night to reduce accidents. Effective traffic management is important for safety during construction and to minimize disruption.

Title: Guidelines for the Preparation of Cost estimates for Traffic management and

Safety & Health Requirements for the Construction and Maintenance of Roads,
Bridges and Safety & Health Requirements for School Buildings

The personal protective equipment must use inside the working industry which includes
safety helmet, safety gloves and safety shoes as the primary PPE. There are several types
of PPE that we should be aware when and where to wear. Also, knowing the signage
purpose will lessen the risk of accidents in the working places. In addition, the risk and
other procedures will cross the threshold to the reference laws, policies, manuals and
guidelines which will help us know the preparation guidelines in detailed information
from the Handbook of Philippine Government Procurement under Republic Act 9184.

As part of the guidelines, you must have idea how to come up with the general steps in
cost derivation, traffic management layouts which includes short and long term works,
detour and side tracks, intersection works and pavement marking works. As part of the
study, we must also observe what are the dimensions, scaling, legends, and signs for
preparation for roadways. In addition, the “Roadwork Ahead” sign must have right
dimensions including vertical height, clear spacing, where to place nuts and bolts for
attachment, and the size varying from the sign panel. Detour signs as road and bridge
work site temporary signage must have a person’s idea about the composition, the cost,
the symbols and its fine. Detour signs will not be place if there is no risks, otherwise
there is. Also, detailed unit price analysis must a worker have an idea how to input details
and compute for the indirect and total cost. Due to improvements of the roads, drainage
must also observe. In addition to roadworks, we all know that government still doing
unending works in roadways like road re-blocking as you can see even if it’s fixed still
government wants to enhance it even other places mostly need it. Using of traffic control
devices for conjunction to worksite signs and conditions must know the resilient impact,
stability to wind and air turbulence, and can be seen from night like using neon colors to
avoid or lessen accidents on roadways.

I’m also asking myself why we should have traffic management during road works. The
reason for that on my opinion is that the mobility of cars as well as the accidents will
lessen if and only if the road signs were placed on the designated area. Flow Condition of
automobile cars and their description is accurate for the traffic impact due to mobility
when doing construction. Traffic enforcer helps the road workers to perform their job
well while operating the traffic for safety purposes of everyone. Also, knowing the
effective worksite management can minimize disruption to traffic while providing a safe
environment. TTC stands for temporary traffic control that depends on the following
conditions. As a planner and guider, worksite traffic management must have signage to
provide that will serve us warning, guidance, instructions and information.
In construction sites, there were different kinds of signage we can see that pertain to
activities nearby or a warning for possible risks. First of all is the signage for using PPE
and “Safety First”. It is the important signage because it may lessen the accidents may
happen if he/she will see this signage inside and outside the working place. Also,
knowing where the “Fire Exit” way if in case of danger is will lessen also risk of injuries.
In addition, schools with floor plan that can be seen anywhere is a sign of healthy facility.
