So before we could start and discuss our topic for today, fyi muna tayo. So 1 Corinthians was a letter
written by the Apostle Paul, addressing the Corinthians. So basically, yung book of Corinthians were
mostly issues sa church na inaadress ni Paul. 1 corinthians 13, is a continuation of the issues that Paul
has been discussing with the Corinthians on their gifts. So if nabasa niyo yung 1 Corinthians 13: 1-3, ito
yung sinabi niya (ppt, do not read, just present.) So here, Paul is saying na lahat ng gifts, kahit na gaano
kahalaga, gaano ka “big deal” , kahit na ikaw yung merong number 1 gift sa lahat, it was mentioned on
the 1st 3 chapters of the book, that “Even the most priceless gift is pointless without LOVE. Any action
that you do, any of the spiritual gift that you have, is nothing if you don’t do with love.

Pero, paano natin marerecognize and malalaman How Love looks like?

1 corinthians 13:4-7, describes that LOVE

So as we go on, maiintindihan natin that LOVE is defined differently. So sa bible ang daming binigay na
meaning ng LOVE. The greeks have definite definition by each kind of love.

Agape- ito yung love na not easily given, coz it is a committed love that you give. Agape love, in the
Bible, is love that comes from God.

That Agape love, is the love that is being described in the 1 corinthians 13.

So today, we will understand that LOVE is action more than intention. That it is more than a thought, it is
much more than a feeling. It is much more than a kilig.

Patient, so the other term used to this is long suffering, so bakit yun yung ginamit na word to describe
love? Because amidst life, there always be adversities, and I know we all know that, tama? We will
experience troubles, and you need patience to be able to live that through. May mga times na we will
encounter difficult people, and paano mo maoovercome ‘yon or how will you handle such? Syempre you
will summon love. It is only love that will make it easier for you to go through life. (pwedeng example
yung experience ko sa work: eventhough I have experienced difficult times during my first 2 months in
the company, I’ve became patient and waited for them to realize na they can trust me, na kaya kong
gawin yung trabaho with minimal to no error (naks).
Love is kind. Kindness is the language that is so universal. Yung mga simpleng acts like offering someone
a seat, greeting someone, opening a door for someone. Kindness can be read by the blind. Kasi they will
feel it kahit na di sila nakakita. Kindness is not needed to be translated. That time when the people on
that Corinthian church, nung nareceive nila yung gift na binigay sa kanila, they have started demeaning
people na walang gift na katulad nila and nalimutan na nilang maging mabait sa kanila. Naging sobrang
proud sila sa gift na meron sila and they have forgotten to be kind. And hindi yun yung gusto makita ng
Lord na gawin nila esp that it is a spiritual gift. I think that we are receiving such gift, to help people and
hindi para maliitin yung mga tao na walang gifts. And I think that’s what paul’s meaning of Love is Kind.
Because showing kindness is also showing love.

So we have discussed the two positive definition of Love pero if mapapansin nyo, nakit 2 lang yung
positive and the rest are negative. Well, hindi naman literally negative pero diba kasi yung mga tao, they
tend to see what Love is Not about? And they have the tendencies to do what Love is not instead to
doing what love is.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud . So alam naman natin na yung envy, nakakasira yan ng
relationship diba? Sobrang dali maiinggit sa mga tao na meron sila na wala tayo. Right? And that is not
what Love is. In life, there is always have to be someone who’s going to be better. Alam niyo naman
siguro yung si Joseph, he was thrown into the well, kasi nagseselos sa kaniya yung mga kapatid niya? Do
you think na it looks like they love Joseph? No. Kasi if they love him, they could have been happy for
Joseph instead na mainggit sa kaniya. As we grow older, marerealize natin na as we step outside the real
world, meron at merong tao na mas magaling sa’yo, with that marerealize natin na there’s no point of
being envious kung ang mindset mo is dapat mas maangatan mo yung taong mas better sa’yo, kasi for
sure, meron pa ring mas better ulit and the cycle goes on. And that’s why Love is not envy. Kasi we tend
to do bad things if we’re envious.

Love does not boast. Why? because the Love that God gave, the example of Love that Paul’s talking
about is not drawn towards himself. Ang dali kay Jesus na magbrag na “I am God” diba? Pero He, instead
was quiet, he did not boast about His Godship. It is not His Greatness that was spoken but it was His
quietness that determines His greatness.

Love is not proud. Being proud is the same with boastfulness. It’s just that yung being boastful is
palabas. While being proud naman is paloob. Parang you’re feeling your greatness ganern. Yung pride
kasi is inward. It is so inward na nagiging arogante na. We all know na Love is not always about me me
me. Kasi yung love is about thinking of others. It is about putting others first. Pero paano mo magagawa
yun if masyado kang proud, and always think about yourself. That’s why Love is not proud. It really is not
though haha. Diba nga sa madalas sa relationship, madalas pag awayan is yung masyado daw mataas
ang pride ganyan ganyan, pero kasi diba, if you love a person, you will always put your pride down,
Paano magkakaintindihan if both or kahit isa man lang is ma-pride?
Love does not dishonor others. God’s loving ways and thoughts are far higher and deeper than ours.
God is the Sovereign Authority over all there is. Yet, our God speaks to us intimately. Kahit na He
confront us in a clear and strong ways especially kapag may mga ginagawa tayong kasalanan, and kahit
na sinasampal (hindi literally) niya tayo ng katotohanan, God is never rude. Love does not dishonor
others. Example, sa parents natin we don’t answer back especially kapag napagsasabihan tayo kasi we
love them. Diba?

Love Is Not Self-Seeking. Ego-warped thinking – Anong ginawa mo saking Mabuti lately? Anong
makukuha ko kung maging mabait ako sa’yo? Being self seeker is a poisonous, self-centered attitude na
eventually maglilead sa pagkasira ng isang relationship, may it be on couples or sa friendship. Diba nga
as said earlier, love is about looking out for others? Yung pag-ibig ng Diyos, it’s always seeks the other
out. Kung tutuusin diba, wala naman kailangan si God sa’tin. He does not need us to fulfill something
that He lacks. Hindi naman kasi siya kailanman nagkulang. Pero He wants us! Diba? God always seeks to
give us His very best.

Love Is Not Easily Angered

All of us has sensitivities right? Meron talagang times na di alam mo yung nanggigil ka na sa inis hahaha.
We are all guilty of that, siguro naman hahaha. Pero if a person becomes angry easily, then iit’s not
showing love. Patience. So it’s like having characteristic of being patient. Yun yung ability mo na itolerate
mo yung kinaiinisan mong bagay nang hindi nag eexpress ng anger. Diba minsa, kapag nagagalit tayo,
hahanap at hahanap tayo ng paraan para lang maexpress natin yung suppressed na inis natin sa mga
taong mahalaga sa’tin, yung hindi maooffend or what. Why? Kasi we love them.. Tsaka we all know that
yung pagiging hot tempered will lead us no good kasi it will just lead us to quick judgement, revenge
magjujump tayo sa conclusion, and that’s not real love.

Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

This kind of love offers forgiveness, even when offenses are repeated many times. It is a love that
doesn't keep track of every wrong thing that people do and hold it against them. Really, it is God’s love
for us. Remember the prodigal son? Diba? Eventhough iniwan ni youngest son yung Father niya and
kinuha lahat ng mana niya, nagkamali sya and yung ginawa niya, hurted his father, but still. The father
welcomed him wide arms open, not thinking about the past. Why? Because he love him and Love keeps
no record of wrong.

Love Does Not Delight in Evil But Rejoices With the Truth

Real love rejoices in what is right and good. We never look for something wrong that a person does.
Tayo ba yung tao na nagkamali pa lang, binitay na agad, nilibing pa? Diba No! Love does not delight in
Evil, kaya nga diba? God did not ignore our sins, sa totoo nga, It is because of His Great love kaya He
provided the means of cleansing our sin!
Love protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

ALWAYS. In other words all the time.

Love always protects, it always care for you, it cares for you it looks out over you. That is what God love
is for us. And yun dapat yung love na dapat nating I extend.

Love always trust. It’s like enduring anything and everything that comes kasi naniniwala ka na

Love Never Fails

This kind of love goes beyond the boundaries of ordinary love. It is eternal, divine, and will never cease.

Paul ends his description of God's kind of love, using the Greek term agape. This is an unselfish,
sacrificial, active love, different from romantic or brotherly love, which use the terms eros and phileo,
respectively. Wrapping up this section, Paul introduces a statement that may make believers feel it is
truly impossible to love as God does, after all: Love never fails.

However, the truth of this statement does not mean no human can ever love as Christ does. It is true
that believers will sometimes fail to love. When we do choose to love in this selfless, sacrificing way,
love will not fail to be effective. One person's choice to love, selflessly, never fails to build up the church
in a powerful way.

The other way in which love never fails is that love is eternal. Selfless love will continue in the Lord and
in His people forever. It is absolutely the way we will live in relationship with each other in eternity.

Lord God heavenly father,

We praise you and we thank you for today.

Maraming Salamat po sa gabing to for we have meet once again, hindi man personal pero to have this
night oh lord is a blessing to us. We know Lord that even though we are not perfect na minsan
nakakagawa kami ng mga bagay na hindi mo gusto or may mga bagay kami na ipinipilit namin, Lord
you’re still patient with us. Lord thank you for your Love for your real, unconditional Love for us. We
know Lord na wala naman kayong kailangan sa’min , na we won’t able to fill your greatness Lord pero
Lord thank you for always extending your Love and for always seeking us out.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and provision, Lord. Na ikaw Lord ang maglead sa’min with every decision
we make. We pray for celine’s venture Panginoon, help her Lord sa whatever her heart desire and
eventually lead her to success. We pray for your guidance oh Lord sa araw-araw and we also pray this
small group to flourish and mas lumaki pa oh Lord.

With this oh Lord we pray we could extend the kind of Love you can give. And this we pray in Jesus’
