Repeatability Test Result

This document contains instructions for analyzing data from a thermocouple and a vortex flowmeter. It asks the reader to: 1) Find the equation of the ideal straight line and non-linearity at two temperatures for a thermocouple. 2) Plot a histogram of probability density values from frequency data taken from a vortex flowmeter, and calculate the mean and standard deviation. 3) Sketch a normal probability density function using the mean and standard deviation on the histogram.

A thermocouple used between 0 and 500 °C has the

following input–output characteristics:

(a)Find the equation of the ideal straight line.

(b)Find the non-linearity at 100 °C and 300 °C in V and

as a percentage of full scale deflection.
