Everything’s in this universe is symbolize which represent different values and different
meaning similarly we can understand many things from mother symbol. Mother symbol is the
flowing energy which manifest in the universe and which builds everything through the cosmic
energy. this cosmic energy is originated from center which is also called Aditi. The Divine
Consciousness is represented by the central circle. which is also called the mahasakti. The four
petals represent the mother’s four powers of the mother, four great aspects of the mother The
twelve petals represent the mother’s twelve manifested powers for Her work.

Four powers of the mother

1. Maheshwari
One is her personality of calm wideness and comprehending wisdom and peaceful
benignity and infinite compassion and sovereign and surpassing majesty and all-ruling
greatness.
2. Mahakali
Mahakali is a divine violence, another perfectly represents her power of magnificent
strength and unstoppable devotion, her warrior mood, her overwhelming will, her
impetuous swiftness, and world-shaking force.
3. Mahalakshmi
A third is colorful, sweet, and wonderful with her deep secret of beauty, harmony, and
fine rhythm, her intricate and subtle opulence, her compelling attraction, and
captivating grace.

4. Mahasaraswati

Mahasaraswoti is also the mother power of work and her spirit of perfection. The
science and craft and technique of things are mahasaraswoti province The fourth is
equipped with her close and profound capacity for intimate knowledge, careful flawless
work, and quiet and exact perfection in all things...

Twelve petals
Twelve petal represents the twelve attributes of the mother. The first eight concern the
attitude towards divine and and last four are the attitude towards humanity. Which are
explain below

1. Sincerity
Being sincere means being pure. 'Desire nothing but the purity, force, light, wideness,
calm, Ananda of the Divine Consciousness, and its insistence on transforming and
perfecting your mind, life, and body,' says Sri Aurobindo.
2. Humility
True humility is humility in the presence of the Divine. It is a precise, exact, living sense
that without the Divine, one is nothing, can do nothing, understand nothing...Even if
one is extremely intelligent and capable, it is nothing compared to the Divine
Consciousness.
3. Gratitude
It is you who opens all the closed doors and enables the saving Grace to enter.
4. Perseverance
Yoga is a long journey. Persistence and perseverance are required regardless of the
method used. Patience is required for this yoga because it entails a radical change in
both the radical means and each part and detail of our nature.
Perseverance: The determination to see things through to the end.
5. Aspiration
A fixed and unfailing aspiration, vigilant and constant - an aspiration of the entire being -
an aspiration that takes hold of you completely, an aspiration to unite with the Divine...
to devote oneself completely to the Divine, not to live outside the Divine Consciousness,
so that the Divine may be all in all Endless, obstinate repetition
6. Receptivity
This means accepting the Divine Force and allowing it to guide one's sight, will, and
action. There must be complete and unwavering consent, a willingness to let the Divine
Power do with us whatever is required for the task at hand. Receptivity: Being aware of
and surrendered to the Divine Will.
7. Progress
The very first condition of inner progress is to recognize whatever is or has been a
wrong movement in any part of our nature - wrong idea, wrong feeling, wrong speech,
wrong action - and by wrong is meant anything that deviates from the truth, the higher
Consciousness and the higher Self, the Divine way. Once recognized, it is offered to the
Divine in order for the Light and Grace to descend and replace the correct movement of
true Consciousness. Progress is the reason we exist.
8. Courage
'The forces that stand in the way of sadhana - spiritual discipline - are forces of the
lower mental, vital, and physical nature. Courage is fearless in the face of all dangers.
9. Goodness
One should not be good with a selfish motive.... It is not necessary to be good in order
for others to be good to you. It's always the same lesson: do as well as you can, the best
you can, but without expecting a result. To love goodness, one must be good.
10.Generosity
It is to give unselfishly, without reservation or expectation. It is to give for the sake of
giving. which is replaced by the joy of participation in the divine work on earth, for a
true and beautiful and harmonious equipment and ordering of a new, divinized mental,
vital, and physical existence in whatever way the Divine Mother herself decides in her
creative vision.
11.Equality
The first requirement for spiritual perfection is perfect equality.... The perfect equality
of our Spirit and nature is a means of returning from the troubled and ignorant outer
consciousness to the inner kingdom of heaven and claiming the Spirit's eternal
kingdoms of greatness, joy, and peace....
12.Peace
The very first foundation in the liberation of the soul from ignorance is peace, calm,
silence, and quietude of the Eternal and Infinite. Peace: The only way to enjoy
unbreakable peace is to want what you want at all times and in all circumstances.

Conclusion
So, the symbol of the mother is not only a symbol it represents the whole universe and
its creation through her power. through this we can understand we have to balance
humanity and divinity into our life. These twelve attributes which is given by mother are
very important into our day-to-day life to be a good human.
