Reminders:
1. Each group will have a different set of wordsearch.
2. Each group will have to identify the words related to testing hypothesis. The words may be arranged horizontally or
vertically.
3. Process questions will be answered and to be reported by the discussant of each group.
4. Each group will have one page in the jamboard.
5. Everyone must be careful in suing the jamboard so as not to erase or delete what is already written on the page.
1. 2.
3. 4.
Guide questions:
1. What are the words did you find?
2. Did you find it difficult to look for these words?
3. Form a sentence using these words.
The learner will be asked to identify the four steps in testing hypothesis.

ACTIVITY 2: FIND MY VALUES! (https://quizizz.com/admin/quiz/62407be2257987001e528284/startV4)
Reminders:
1. There is one given problem.
2. You are going to answer the given question based on the problem.
3. If you cannot access the app, you may use the chatbox or may use paper and pen.
It is believed that the average monthly salary of public-school teachers in the Philippines is P19, 600*. A random
sample of 55 teachers revealed a mean salary of P20, 200. In 5% level of significance, can it be concluded that
the mean salary of teachers is greater than P19, 600?

Strategy: Whole Class Discussion/Reporting/Interactive Learning
Integration: Technology Integration/Research
Technique: Group presentation
What is It?
WHOLE CLASS DISCUSSION: Each group will present their problem and their answers. Additional information about their
problem will also be presented.
After each presentation, other groups will be asked to give their insights and comment about the presented problem
and the technique used to solve the problem.

ACTIVITY 4: TESTING HYPOTHESIS!
Reminders:
1. This activity can be done in diads or triads for collaboration and questions.
2. Follow the steps in testing hypothesis.
3. You may write your answers on a piece of paper, take a picture of it and upload/attach in the google jamboard.
4. You have 10 minutes to answer this.
Problem: According to the report of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) in 2018, a Filipino household
spends an average of ₱333 a day. You took a random sample of 20 households and determined the amount of their
allotted budget each day revealing a mean of ₱420 and standard deviation of ₱120. Using 0.01 level of significance, can
it be concluded that the average amount spent per day by a Filipino household has increased? Assume normality over
the population.
Principles of Teaching: Cognitivism
Strategy: Problem Solving/Indirect Instruction
Integration: Technology Integration/Research
Technique: Individual Work/Thru google form
Reminders:
1. This is an individual activity.
2. Follow the steps in testing hypothesis.
3. You may write your answers on a piece of paper, take a picture of it and upload/attach in the google jamboard.
4. You have 10 minutes to answer this.
Problem: A recent data said that internet users in the Philippines spend an average of 10 hours* a day with a standard
deviation of 4.5 hours. A random sample of 75 internet users is taken from a normally distributed population who spend
an average of 8 hours in the internet. Using 5% level of significance, would you conclude that the statement given in the
survey is correct?

After all the activities, tell the learners that those who have questions may message the teacher for additional
discussion and information. This may be done through chat/videochat in messenger or ask for one-on-one tutorial thru
google meet.
Find a research study or data that contains mean or average and standard deviation. Based on the data make your
own problem that involves testing hypothesis. You will decide on the level of significance and the number of sample size.
Present your data in any presentation application. Random students will be called to present their work next meeting.

1. I can formulate the null and alternative hypothesis based on the given problem.
2. I can determine the test statistic to be used and calculate its value.
3. I can find the critical value and can draw the critical region.
4. I can give the conclusion based on the computed and critical values.
5. I know that rejecting the null hypothesis means accepting the alternative hypothesis.

Multiple choice: Read the problem and then answer the questions that follow.
Problem: According to the World Health Organization’s statistics published in 2018, the lifespan of a person in the
Philippines is 69.3* years old. A random sample of 25 obituary notices in the Philippine Daily Inquirer has an average
mean of 60 years old with a standard deviation of 19 years. If the life span in the Philippines is normally distributed, does
this information indicate that the population mean life span of Filipinos is less than 67 years old? Use 5% level of
significance. *https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/philippines-life-expectancy
5. What conclusion can be made comparing the critical and computed value?
A. There is enough evidence to support the claim that the population mean life span of Filipinos is less than 69.3.
B. There is enough evidence to support the claim that the population mean life span of Filipinos is more than 69.3.
C. There is enough evidence to support the claim that the population mean life span of Filipinos is equal to 69.3.
D. There is enough evidence to support the claim that the population mean life span of Filipinos is not equal to 69.3.
V. REFLECTION The learner will complete the Exit Ticket.
