Lagen Island is a quiet sanctuary sandwiched between a dense forest and a serene lagoon. A
quiet elegance may be felt in its classic and contemporary design. Well-appointed cottages, rooms, and
suites are located by the ocean, on the sand, or within a lush forest. Lagen Island, which is a member of
the El Nido Resorts organization, can be found in El Nido, in the northwest region of Palawan. From
Manila, a direct flight takes 75 minutes, while from Puerto Princesa City, the capital of Palawan, a road
trip takes 6 hours. There are 51 rooms on Lagen Island, and the floors and furniture are made from
repurposed wood from ancient Filipino homes to inspire elegance and calm grandeur. All of the rooms
have full-height sliding glass doors that open to a private veranda and were created to provide the
utmost peace and solitude. 20 Forest Rooms are situated on the outskirts of the forest, while 4 Forest
Suites are on the top floor of the Forest Room Complex. A bathtub and twin vanities can be found in
each Forest Suite, which has a floor size of 70 sq m and can accommodate three people comfortably.
Nine Beachfront Cottages have a panoramic view of the cove, and there are 18 Water Cottages built on
stilts over the water. A family of three can stay in any of these rooms.
At Lagen Island Resort, you can look forward to a free breakfast buffet, a free roundtrip airport
shuttle, and a terrace. This hotel is a great place to bask in the sun with a beachfront location, beach
massages, and sun loungers. Treat yourself to spa services, such as a body treatment, a massage, or
aromatherapy. The onsite restaurant, Lagen Club House, features brunch. In addition to a garden and a
library, guests can connect to free in-room WiFi.
Room features
El Nido Resort Lagen Island is one of the most known beach resort in Palawan and situated on a seaside.
Because of its calming forest and breathtaking lagoon that could surely ease your stressed and problems
and will give panoramic view in the area.
Due influx and demand, we are innovating the resort. We will create additional rooms, since the resort
only has an approximately 40 rooms that can occupy 3-4 guest depending on the room category. During
peak season, influx of tourists and guests are anticipated and we noticed that the resort is insufficient
when it comes to accommodation. However, when it comes to amenities, facilities and activities, they
are all present. So, we devise a plan that could also widen the area preserving natural habitats and
abiding government's regulation when it comes to natural resources. Since number of tourists continue
to rise, we should extensively formulate what are the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. It’s
better to assure that we are planning coherently and systematically to refrain from any lapses and
inconvenience. Safety both of the tourists and employees are prioritized, we still uphold to protocols
since COVID 19 is continuously spreading. Currently these past month, COVID cases are starting to
subside and activities are expanding, there is a high possibility that vacation and get away intensifies.
Furthermore, we will add employees that are multilingual for easy transaction and communication when
it comes to foreign tourists since outbound tourists are becoming more present in the market because
of the lowering number of cases.
We assure to handle responsibility when it comes to our innovation and could certainly boost and
attraction more travelers in the near future. There is a lot of event and holidays upcoming so we are
now preparing to the possible influx and plenty of product services.
III. Proposed Innovation
Innovation in the our industry is important because it has the capacity to transform the industry
positively. It is often necessary for beach resorts to adapt and overcome the challenges of change. It
fosters growth, Stagnation can be extremely detrimental to the business. Achieving organizational and
economic growth through innovation is key to staying afloat in today's highly competitive
generation. As modern guests travel, both for business and pleasure, they want to have their needs met
to have a personalized and seamless experience. Modern guests want to be engaged, heard,
empowered and delighted by hotels. So here are some innovation that we can offer:
The benefits of our proposed innovation are: there will be an additional facilities and amenities for
guests to unwind and for recreation, guests are not bound with merely and accommodation but rather
with accessible facilities where they could relax. There will be added villas, exquisite water retreat
rooms. Also our main focus is adding more rooms and become more spacious to occupy 1-6 persons.
However, there are also challenges we might contend before, during and after, so we are wary about
how we impose a plan before the final execution. Challenges would be: there will be competitors with
more spacious accommodation, with broad set of services and amenites. Competitors are inevitable and
are expected on a business venture.
Natural calamities would also be detrimental both to our guests and employees, our resort is situated
adjacent to the waters, so we must be cautious if such event may transpire.
