PART 1
INTRODUCTION
Data can be rightly termed as a fuel that can drive any organization to new heights. Also, with the
advent of multiple technologies for day to day data collection, there is no dearth of data all around.
Using this data for businesses is now a mandate for any organization looking towards growth. Data
Analytics enables companies to efficiently understand enormous data from multiple sources and
derive valuable insights to make smarter data-driven decisions.

COURSE OBJECTIVES (CO)


i. Understanding the significance and need of analytics as a competitive advantage.
ii. Apply quantitative modelling and data analysis techniques to the solution of real world
business problems, communicate findings, and effectively present results.
iii. Apply the theories, techniques and tools to solve problems from various industrial domains
such as manufacturing, services, retail, software, banking and finance, sports, and
pharmaceuticals.
iv. Make better business decisions by using techniques and tools for data analytics

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)


At the end of this course, students would be able to:
CLO1 – Demonstrate analytical thinking for business problems. (PLO 1, 5)

CLO2 – Demonstrate ability to select the right tools and techniques for different analytical
problems (PLO 2)

CLO3 – Demonstrate ability to identify a practical life problem and apply the right analytical

PART 3: SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION


* Project Details – The group project topics will be given tentatively after the 11th session.
The written report of the project for each group should be sent within the deadline (to be
communicated in due course) and then group viva will be conducted during the 19th and
20th session.
