Racks, Serial Bus Termination
▪ On the last rack of a bus segment, the I/O-Bus (SPB) has
to be terminated (R = 1 kΩ ).
▪ After delivery, this resistor is connected.
▪ Termination on Rack 1 is done by the CMU.
Rack #2
Remove !
To remove the termination:
interrupt the electrical connection of
the resistor by drilling a hole on
Rack #3 position X4 on the back plane.
Keep Resistor !
