ONLINE STORYTELLING COMPETITION

GRADE LEVEL 4, 5 & 6

RULES AND GUIDELINES

INTRODUCTION

The Saint Joseph School Foundation Inc. joins the celebration of the 88th National Book
Week Celebration 2022 with the theme “BASA, BAYAN, BUKAS”. One of the highlights
of this celebration is expressing this year’s theme through doing a storytelling.

RULES AND REGULATION

Contestants are to observe the following rules:

1. The competition is open to all Grade 4, 5 & 6.

 Two (2) representatives as possible, one (1) from the boys


and (1) from the girls in each grade level.

2. Stories presented can be authentic, adapted or originally written


only in Filipino / Tagalog.

3. Stories presented must NOT touch on sensitive issues such as


race, religion, politics, colour, personalities, etc.

4. Stories must be educational with good moral values.

5. Sound effects and music backgrounds are NOT allowed to avoid


copyright infringement.

6. Video time allocated to present the story is not shorter than 3


minutes and not longer than 5 minutes.

7. The video will ONLY be posted in the official page of SAINT


JOSEPH SCHOOL FOUNDATION INC. LIBRARY.

8. Only ‘’WOW” react will be counted as one (1) vote.

9. Online voting is ONLY one (1) component of criteria for judging


and is NOT the final evaluation of our candidates.

10. Last submission of video entries will be on November 16, 2022.


Late submission will get 50 deduction votes on their online votes.

 E.g. If you receive 500 wow reactions overall, 50 wow


reactions will be deducted for a late submission, giving you
a total of 450 votes.

11. Online voting will start as soon as the video is posted. Voting ends
will be on November 23, 2022.
INFRINGEMENT

A maximum of 10 points will be deducted in an overall score if a contestant:

a. Touches on sensitive issues such as race, religion, politics,


colour, personalities, etc.

b. Present a story below the minimum and maximum


stipulated time.

c. Uses sound effects and music backgrounds.

A contestant will be disqualified if:

i. He / she is proven to do lip syncing in the video.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

ORIGINALITY------------------------------------------------------------ 20%

(Refers to the uniqueness of the performance and creating an original


story)

(Does the storytelling promote good moral values?)

PERFORMANCE--------------------------------------------------------30%

(Refers to the facial and emotional expressions, voice variations,


pronunciation of words and characterization of the contestant.)

CREATIVITY------------------------------------------------------------- 20%

(Refers to the imaginative creation of how the story being presented with
styles using background design and props.)

ONLINE VOTES---------------------------------------------------------10%

(Referring to the ‘’WOW” react in the videos posted online.)

TOTAL OF----------------------------------------------------------------100%
ADJUDICATION

a. The competition will be judged by the 3 guest online panelists outside the school.

b. The contestant with the highest total percentage will be declared the winner.

c. The decision of the judges is final.
