the apprentice responsibility to have a disciplined and responsible approach to
ensure that the logbook is up to date at all times.

WARNING

evidence not complying w ith the required principle of Authenticity, w hich
could lead to disciplinar y procedures against the learners and other persons
involved.

Authenticity: Is the evidence being presented the apprentice own work and are
logbook entries / records a true reflection of apprentice own achievement? This is
especially true when it comes to assessing written evidence, as dishonesty is
common place. It is up to the assessor to verify that the reference to evidence in
the logbook is a factual reference to evidence in the apprentice training file and
that it is the apprentice own work. If an assessor determined that there is a
possibility that the evidence is fraudulent, fabricated or false, evidence can be
declared null and void. An apprentice that fraudulently submits / fabricate false
evidence can face disciplinary action and dismissal.
