PLAN OF INVESTIGATION
This topic's title refers to the detrimental effects of dancehall music on high school students.

Researching a topic to identify source assets was one of the tasks completed. Three pieces of

material to help topic discussion in groups, gathering information for contemplation, and

gathering information for a conclusion and oral presentation. I chose this topic because

dancehall music has a huge influence on our kids and can have both positive and harmful

consequences. Because music is a component of our society, it would be interesting to

investigate and learn about the various ways in which it influences us as teenagers.

REFLECTION 1
Thematic
My concern is the negative effects of dancehall music on high school kids. This meditation

will look at an essay, a photograph, and a video. Is there a link between dancehall music and

youth behaviour? These are some of the issues I'd like the data to address. What is the extent

to which dancehall music has an impact on young people? What are the alternatives for

resolving the problem?

By showing the negative consequences dancehall music has on our youth, the article

benefited my topic. The author uses a rhetorical question to express her point of view. The

image demonstrates how people with the power to change the content of music are more

concerned with the money, and the video provided me with a visual representation of what

happens among teenagers.

During my research, I learned that dancehall music has a tremendous impact on our teenagers

and can impede their scholastic advancement. This song by skeng don “street cred” influence

student to join gangs.

REFLECTION 2
Language Skills
In the article headed "The Negative Effects of Dancehall Music on Jamaican Youths," the

statistics were provided in normal English. Because of this formal language use, I was able to

understand the writer's aggravation and fear when she wrote that "dancehall culture is

commonly disparaged as a homophobic, murdering, sexist rhetoric that lowers both men and

women to basic essentials skeletal remains."

In Jamaican Creole, the visual delivers its message. I was able to better understand how

music impacts teenagers and how parents deal with it because to the conversational language.

The video's title was 'High School Kids Dancing Bend Over,' and it used common

terminology to describe the work. It demonstrates how dancing makes youngsters feel good

about themselves.

The piece's most striking aspect was how youths gravitate toward artists and why they are all

imprisoned. This helped me comprehend the extent to which dancehall music has an impact

on society, as well as how awful the music can be.

REFLECTION 3
Process
It wasn't difficult to find the three relics I eventually chose. Even while I was aware that

dancehall music had an impact, I had no clue how significant it was. This research has

changed my thoughts of music, and it makes me sad because most young people look up to

the musicians as role models, but their music is leading them down the wrong path.

Working on this project as part of a team had a profound effect on me. The group members

demonstrate strong and notable traits when discussing our findings; I was also encouraged by

their desire to learn and complete the work. Working alone has always been my preference

but collaborating with these individuals has been a blast. Members of the group assisted me

in better understanding and learning about myself.

Because of this research, I am better able to communicate with my peers and have gained

time management and self-value.

WRITTEN REPORT
ORAL PIECE INTRODUCTION
In this presentation, the negative effects of dancehall music on children will be examined. My

presentation will be in the style of poetry, which I chose since poetry is a kind of art that

speaks to the subconscious, and I believe it will better illustrate my argument and educate my

audience. In this presentation, the negative effects of dancehall music on children will be

educate my audience.

My research material enhanced my presentation by explaining how dancehall music affects

youths and how they respond to it. This presentation will be given in Jamaican creole; I

picked this language register because the majority of the audience is Jamaican, and I wanted

them to be able to understand my message more readily.
