Water Mist System

A high pressure water mist system uses specially designed nozzles to blast water at high pressures through tiny openings, creating very small water droplets that are highly effective at firefighting. The water droplets absorb heat and displace oxygen as they evaporate, smothering the fire. The system includes high-pressure pumps and corrosion-resistant valves to deliver water mist that can control or extinguish fires quickly without chemicals or water damage.

🔥 High Pressure Water Mist System🔥

A high pressure water mist system is a one of unique firefighting system. Water is blasted at high
pressure through tiny nozzles to create a water mist with the most effective firefighting drop size
distribution. The extinguishing actions give maximum protection by chilling due to heat
absorption and inerting due to the expansion of water when it evaporates by roughly 1,700
times.

🔥 The essential element 🔥

1. Specially-designed water mist nozzles

The high pressure water mist nozzles are based on the unique Micro nozzle method. Because of
their unique shape, the water gets high rotating motion in the swirl chamber and is turned into a
water mist that is rapidly propelled into the flames. The huge spray angle and spray pattern of
micro nozzles allow for a wide spacing.

The droplets generated in the nozzle heads are formed under pressures ranging from 100 to 120
bars.

The nozzles are specially built for high-pressure water mist after a series of extensive fire tests, as
well as mechanical and material tests. All tests are conducted by independent laboratories,
ensuring that even the most stringent requirements for offshore are fulfilled.

2. Pump Design

Intensive study has resulted in the development of the world's lightest and smallest high-
pressure pump. Pumps are corrosion-resistant stainless steel multi-axial piston pumps. The
unusual design employs water as a lubricant, which eliminates the need for routine servicing and
lubricant replacement. The pump is covered by international patents and is widely utilised in a
variety of industries. The pumps have an energy efficiency of up to 95% and very little pulsation,
which reduces noise.

3. Highly corrosion-proof valves

High-pressure valves are composed of stainless steel and are resistant to corrosion and filth. The
valves are relatively small due to the manifold block construction, making them very
straightforward to install and use.

🔥Advantages of a High-Pressure Water Mist System ❤️‍🔥

The advantages of a high pressure water mist system are numerous. It is one of the most
environmentally friendly and efficient firefighting systems available, controlling/putting out the
fire in seconds, without the need of any chemical additives, with low water usage and near to no
water damage, and is completely
The principle of Water Mist.

Water mist is described in NFPA 750 as a water spray with a Dv0.99 for the flow-weighted
cumulative volumetric distribution of water droplets of fewer than 1000 microns at the water mist
nozzle's minimum design operating pressure. The water mist system uses high pressure to deliver
water in the form of a fine atomised mist. This mist immediately turns into steam, suffocating the
fire and preventing additional oxygen from reaching it. At the same time, evaporation provides
significant cooling.

Water has high heat absorption properties, absorbing 378 KJ/kg and 2257 KJ/kg when converted
to steam, with a 1700:1 expansion. To take use of these qualities, the surface area of the water
droplets must be maximised, as well as their transit duration (before impacting surfaces). A
combination of these methods can be used to suppress surface flame fires 👇🏻

1. Heat extraction from the fire and fuel

2. Oxygen reduction by steam smothering at the flame front
3. Blocking of radiant heat transfer
4. Cooling of combustion gases

The existence of the three elements of the 'fire triangle': oxygen, heat, and combustible material
is required for a fire to survive. A fire can be put out by removing any of these factors. A high-
pressure water mist system takes things a step further. It targets two components of the fire
triangle: oxygen and heat.
