Manufacturing A Biodegradable Multi-Purpose Garbage Can For Waste Disposal & Digesting Fertilizer

The document discusses the growing problem of garbage and waste management. It notes that garbage production is increasing despite efforts to address the issue. The researcher wants to develop a multi-purpose biodegradable garbage can that can both dispose of waste and digest the waste to produce fertilizer. Specifically, the researcher aims to determine the supplies, tools, and equipment needed to manufacture such a garbage can and the process for manufacturing it. The goal is to help address the biodegradable waste problem and reduce waste.

CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM: RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

Garbage management, or solid waste management as it is more formally

known, is the solution to the world's offensive and growing garbage problem. The

fundamental cause of the hazardous disease, as well as the loss of land and adverse

environmental effects, has been the growing garbage problem. Even after years of

trying to fix the growing garbage problem, the issue still exists. (site the author)

Source reduction is seen to be the solution to the solid waste problem. This

implies that individuals should first analyze how much garbage they produce and how

they may decrease it. Second, they should assess how much garbage may be diverted

from final disposal into alternative forms. (Guzman et al., 2010)

Agriculture is very important in the Philippines., Nearly half of the amounts

consist of agriculture waste such as crop residue and animal manure, accounts for over

half of the total, and is typically recycled into soil on the farms where it is generated.

(Cunningham & Santiago, 2001)

Disposing waste into garbage cans is one technique to lessen the harmful

impacts on the environment and to encourage the sustainable management of

biodegradable wastes. From prehistory until the present, the preferred method of

disposal was to simply dump solid waste outside of the boundaries of cities and villages.

(Enger & Smith,2006)

The researcher were worried about what would happen to the biodegradable

wastes after being thrown into a simple garbage can because of the growing

biodegradable waste problem. The ideal garbage can has to be sturdy, reasonably

priced, and rain-tight and vermin resistant (i.e. closed at the top, smooth sides, and

properly sealed). The dream garbage is also needed to digest/process fertilizer after

disposing wastes into it.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research focuses on manufacturing a biodegradable multi-purpose garbage

can for waste disposal and digesting fertilizer. Due to the rapid growth in garbage in our

environment, making a solution for this issue is necessary, thus the researcher want to

produce a multi-purpose garbage can. Using biodegradable garbage can in order to

decrease and reduce the amount of biodegradable waste and digest fertilizer.

It primarily aimed to respond to the following questions:

1. What supplies, tools, and equipment are needed for manufacturing a multi-purpose

biodegradable garbage can?

2. How does a multi-purpose biodegradable garbage can be manufactured?

3. Will manufacturing a dual-purpose biodegradable garbage can: for waste disposal;

and digesting fertilizer works? (revise)
