SCIENCE 7 - Compunds SIM

Teacher Nez provided a guide on compounds for students. The teacher explained that compounds are substances formed by two or more chemical elements bonded together, giving examples like water and salt. Students then participated in activities to identify compounds and their constituent elements in various substances and food ingredients. The lesson concluded with an assessment and enrichment activity for students to demonstrate their understanding of compounds.

GUIDE CARD

Hello everyone, I am teacher Nez. I hope you

are in a good mode and taking your meals every day. I
want you to feel comfortable in your position right
now. This time I want you to stay focus and I hope
that you will finish this lesson regarding
COMPOUNDS.
I will provide you with different activities for
you to be fully equipped with the different compounds
that we found in our daily food intake. And its
constituent elements
Are you ready?
And now, I want you to join my travel and
discover the realm of COMPOUNDS.

1
Can you guess what I am thinking? Well, you are right.
Let me share to you this one.
COMPOUNDS is a substance formed when two or more chemical
elements are chemically bonded together.
For example: water, salt
Water is a compound because it is a combination of two
elements the hydrogen and oxygen. Its chemical formula is H2O.
Water can be separated from each other through the process called
electrolysis.
Salt is another example of compound. Its chemical formula
is NaCl. Its constituent elements are Sodium and Chlorine.
Compounds can also be found in the list of ingredients in different
food products that we ate.
I’m sure everything is easy for you to identify
COMPOUNDS. Do you want to discover more?

2
Mich, can you tell me the
compound name of 𝐴𝑙𝐶𝑙3
Aluminum chloride,
ma’am.

How about its constituent elements?

Aluminum and Chlorine.

Very good! Mich.

Thank you, ma’am.

Can we find any compounds in the different

food products that we eat? Yes, ma’am. At the back
of the food wrapper we
can find the list of
ingredients that has
Give me on example of compound that we compounds.
can find at the back of any food wrapper.

Sodium Bicarbonate,
Well done, Mich. You are ma’am.
a keen observer.
