1.Difference between microprocessor and microcontroller.
A microprocessor is a programmable device to perform ALU operations.
A microcontroller is a programmable device to perform a specific task. Microprocessor has less number of registers. Microcontroller has more registers when compared to microprocessor. External peripheral device are connected in order to communicate with device. Peripheral components are embedded in single chip. 2. Architecture of PIC 16f877A micro controller.
It is based on von -neuman architecture.
A Watch dog timer is present in PIC ,it is useful to detect the malfunction in software and reset the processor. It has 4k program memory ,data memory and data EEPROM . Program memory it stores the program to be fetched into the pic. Data memory which consist of bank of registers and special purpose registers. It consist of timers,SPI and adc. It supports 15 types of interrupt. 3. Define Interrupt. Interrupt is a signal to device when a process has to given immediate attention. Hardware interrupt Software interrupt 4. Define Timer & Counter. A timer is a clock used to measure the time intervals. Counter is a device which stores number of events occurred with clock signals. 5. Power Supply Circuit design, Voltage Divider Circuit. Power supply circuit Unregulated power supply(undesirable dc voltage) Regulated power supply(Full wave and half wave rectifier. Switch mode power supply(SMPS). Voltage divider circuit. Voltage divider which converts high voltage to low voltage .Voltage divider used to measure the resistance of a sensor.
