1. Do handwashing

3. Assist the circulating nurse in mounting the patient in the delivery table.

4. Prepare the mayo table. Open the OB Set (1 kidney basin, 1 kelly curve forcep, 1 kelly straight
forcep, 1 needle holder, 1 tissue forcep, 1 ovum forcep, 1 mayo scissor) & OB Pack ( 1 Abdominal
drape, 2 leggings and 1 buttocks drape). Count instruments. Do gloving.

6. Anticipate needed instrument by the obstetrician by hand it over.

Do not release support until the baby is completely delivered.

8. Offer cord clamp ( to INC In-charge) Kelly forcep to obstetrician then scissor.

9. Anticipate placental delivery. Once eminent, hold the kidney basin closer to the perineum to catch
the delivered placenta. Offer ovum forcep to the obstetrician. Hand kidney basin with placenta to
circulating nurse for weighing.

10. (If patient is not primi, Proceed to #9). Offer syringe with anesthesia to obstetrician, then prepare
suture (ask if he/she is right or left-handed) and assist during episiorrhaphy (Hold suture, wipe
bleeder site and cut as instructed).

11. Clean patient’s perineum and thigh; Apply adult diaper (Assisted by circulating nurse)

13. Do after care of the instruments (soak for 10 mins, then brush with soap and rinse with water.) Dry

system).
