This document describes a study on generating electricity from a bicycle. The main components of the system include a bicycle, generator, battery, inverter board, sprockets, belt, and chain. As the bicycle pedals are rotated, the mechanical energy is transferred through the chain/belt drive system to the generator, which converts it to electrical energy that is stored in the battery. The inverter board then converts the DC current from the battery to AC current that can power small household appliances. Experimental tests found that 1 hour of bicycling could produce 19.5-156 watt hours of power, depending on usage. The system was able to provide enough energy to run lights, a fan and TV for 8 hours.

I. INTRODUCTION
The word energy means required to do work. The
world fills with many energies and energy resources.
Electricity is the main energy which make the world run
every day, without the electricity can‟t do any work and
the world will struggle. This project concentrates on the
production of electricity with minimal cost and available
resources. This is mainly used for producing the electrical
power. It is manually operated power system. This report
describes the design and analysis of bicycle generator and its
feasibility. This resulting machine known as dual purpose
bicycle can be used to power numeric small scale mechanical
devices electrical generator and availability of small machine
tools. The dual purpose bicycle can be converted from its
transportation mode to its pedal power mode or vice versa Fig. 1. Scamatic diagram of the experimental setup
with a matter of minute. To study about the bicycle generator
and its feasibility this study was carried out.
III. MAIN COMPONENTS

A. Bicycle
A bicycle is a human-powered, pedal-driven, Bicycle usage Time(hrs) Power(Watts-hr)

specifications; Power; 120 W, Load capacity; 500 V A.
The appliances which are getting the power from the
bicycle generator are listed in the table 2. Three electrical
components are used that are tube light, table fan and
television. The quantity of tube light is two and the quantity of
table fan and television are one. The power rating of tube light
is 34 Watts and the power rating of table fan and television are
40 Watts and 47 Watts. The power consumption of 2 tube
lights in 1 hour is 68 Watts-hr and the table fan and television
power consumption in one hour is 40 Watts-hr and 47 Watts-
hr. Then the power for 8 hour is calculated by multiplying the
power consumption in 1 hour. With 8. The power

encourage and motivate the students and juniors of our
college to build up the bicycle generator with more
efficiency, like adding flywheel for increase the rate of
power production and provide some mechanism for
continuous pedaling. And further developments like
attaching generator core with the cycle wheel and make
the cycle wheel to act like a generator when it is rotate
and set the flywheel in various position in order to find
the most effective power production. Instead of belt the
wheel and the generator can be coupled with chain drive.
Otherwise the generator can be attach with the center
shaft of the back wheel.

VII. CONCLUSION
The bicycle generator and feasibility is successfully
analyzed. The working principle of the bicycle generator was
successfully studied. Various cost estimation about profit
and loss of the bicycle generator are studied and
calculated by manually. It is mainly used for home purpose.
It can be used at various prices where electrical power is
required. Due to the portability of the property it can be
easily taken to anywhere.
