Pumping Station Design Calculation

The document provides structural design calculations for the dewatering station located in Alamdara Colony. It includes calculations for load parameters, hydrodynamic pressure on the circular wet well from seismic effects, and maximum pressure of 11.475 kN/sqm. Reinforcement is designed using STAAD modeling and excel sheets. Load combinations include the tank full or empty with soil loading. Design of the wet well walls and thickness parameters are also covered.

(Refer Annex B of IS 3370 (Part II):2009)
For a limiting crackwidth of 0.1mm, ε2 = 1.5*b*(D - x)*(a' - x)/(3*E s*As*(d - x)) = 0.0000000
and for a limiting crackwidth of 0.2mm, ε2 = b*(D - x)*(a' - x)/(3*E s*As*(d - x)) = 0.0005403

Stiffening Effect of Concrete in Tension

(Refer Annex B of IS 3370 (Part II):2009)
For a limiting crackwidth of 0.1mm, ε2 = (b*D)/(Es*As) = 0.0000
and for a limiting crackwidth of 0.2mm, ε2 = (2* b*D)/(3*Es*As) = 0.0000
Note: IS 3370 Annexure B, Limit on strain in direct tension = 0.0020

Therefore the dominant effect is flexure.

For a crack width of
0.20 mm, ε2 = 0.0005403
Average strain at level where cracking is being considered, εm = ε1 - ε2 = 0.00001
Distance to the surface of nearest reinforcement bar, acr = 74.71 mm

Maximum flexural crackwidth, wmax = 3*acr*εm/[1+ 2*(acr - Cmin)/(D - x)] = 0.001 mm OK
