ATEX Special Conditions of Safe Use

Zone 0/1 & 2

• Trendmaster DSM must be installed in a suitable enclosure with a rating of at least IP54. This
requirement is met for an enclosure of type EEx e or EEx n and rated minimum IP54.

• Ambient temperature of Trendmaster DSM inside the enclosure shall not exceed +70C.

• Field devices connected to the external energy limited circuits have to be coded EEx nL in order to
maintain the EEx nL type of protection for the whole circuit.

• External barriers/devices certified as Ex ia/ib are required for Zone 0/1 interface installations when
connecting to transducers.

• Optical transmitter circuit of 149776-02 is coded [Ex op is IIC] and may be connected to optical
devices or apparatus of category Ex II 1 G.

Zone 2

• When installed in a Zone 2 hazardous area, the TMGI shall be installed in an enclosure that ensures
compliance with Category 3 enclosure requirements for explosive gas environments as detailed in EN
50021:1999 clause 24.

• When installed in a Zone 22 hazardous area, the TMGI shall be installed in an enclosure that ensures
compliance with Category 3 enclosure requirements for explosive dust environments as detailed in EN
50281-1-1:1998 clause 6.

• Shall be installed per drawings 164160 and 162084.

• Shall only be connected to intrinsically safe certified equipment. This combination must be
compatible as regards intrinsic safety rules (see electrical parameters).

• System is intrinsically safe when connected to MTL-765 and MTL-764 certified barriers.

• ProTIMs may only be connected to 20015x-type accelerometers (LCIE 98 ATEX 6008 X),
200125 type Thermocouples or RTDs.

• Static discharge warning label affixed on model 200200 polyester enclosure.

• The apparatus has to be installed in such a way that it is protected against mechanical impacts and
frictions.

Zone 2

• Shall be installed per drawings 164161 and 162085.

• Shall be connected to a regulated energy limited power supply rated at 16.2 V; 50 mA.

• ProTIMs may only be connected to 200150-type accelerometers (LCIE 98 ATEX 6008 X), 200125 type
Thermocouples or RTDs.
