Yellow Wax

Yellow Wax is the purified wax from honeybee combs. It must pass three acceptance criteria: 1) The wax separates, leaving the liquid clear; 2) The liquid remains clear or shows slight turbidity when acidified; 3) It shows no cloudiness when cooled to 65°C after saponification. Additional tests specify melting range of 62-65°C, acid value of 17-24, and ester value of 72-79. Yellow Wax must be stored in well-closed containers.
