Company Name and Objectives


The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) Construction Inputs Production Center,
in collaboration with the Business Development and Project Management Center, undertakes
survey studies toward enabling the corporation supply new products to the market and ensures
input supply to product manufacturing centers. It supplies different construction inputs, vehicles
and spare parts, pipes, metal-works and woodworks and supplies the surplus products to the
market, and collects revenues from the sales of the products. Moreover, the center follows up the
procurement, installation and production of key manufacturing equipment and plants that require
huge investment capital with a view to realizing the objectives and mission of the corporation.

Mission of the Corporation


Construction Inputs Production Center of ECWC was formerly called Prefabricated Building
Parts Production Enterprise (PBPPE) which was established in 1984 with a technical
assistance from the former Yugoslavia with investment capital of 13 million birr. The center makes
use of IMS precast concrete system (a patent of the Institute for Testing Materials for pre stressed
concrete). The center's production capacity has been designed to build three categories of
buildings: the residential buildings up to 5-storeys, residential buildings up to 10-storeys and public
buildings up to 10-storeys. The types of structural elements produced by the factory are over 38
which include various types of columns, slabs, footings, girders, shear walls, stair flights and
landings. Efforts are underway to enhance the building technology used for the last 35 years
