Product Description Section 1 Release Notes

Application Builder (APB) creates and administers the environment for the other
control configuration tools: Function Chart Builder, Bus Configuration Builder, and
On-line Builder.
Application Builder is used for Advant OCS project and data administration. It
assists you when working as a team on a project because you can store your data on
a central server and the local hard disk.
Bus Configuration Builder (BCB) is a tool for support of bus configuration of AF
100 buses. It shows the bus configuration in tree representation, performs
consistency checks, calculates bus load, and generates cross reference listings.
The bus configuration data is collected in the Bus Configuration Database. It is read

Editing .TIX or .TBX files with AS100-EDIT

Such files should not be modified with an editor as they are generated by Function
Chart Builder. We recommend not to edit these files, as the syntax of generated files
is subject to change without notice. AS100-EDIT replaces CHAR(2) in TIX-files by
CHAR(32) (blank).
Use NOTEPAD or another editor to edit these files.

Workaround
Don’t restart target during running Diagnostics function.

Uploader FCB don’t works properly for FD (Fire Detektor)

The utility Uploader FCB, delivered with FCB 6.2/1 works properly for all FI and
GI database types except FD (Fire Detektor).
The database type instances FD should be uploaded as OPC Objects of type MB300
FI (in the same way as FINC and FINO). This function is not included in FCB
Upload delivered with FCB 6.2/1.

View > Cross Ref. Of Sel. DB Elem Does Not Work In Some Cases
The FCB function “View > Cross Ref. of sel. DB Elem” used to view PC-element
crossreferences of the selected DB Element does not work in case DB Element filter
is set function View > Cross Reference.

Description in detail
Start FCB on project IA05003 on node CRDB1 with FCB 6.2/0. Backtranslate DB
and PC Source Code named CR1.
In DB Section select DB Element DIC1 and perform menu command “View | Cross
Ref. of sel. DB Elem”.

Result

General result
The filter, set in the function “View > Cross Reference ..." DB Crossreference,
Name is active when using the function "View > Cross Ref. of sel. DB Elem". This
is not correct.
The correct behavior should be as described in manual:
Filters defined in “View > Cross Reference ..." are overwritten by the functions

Dsps Created By Remote IO Cannot Be Displayed Correct

Terminal values of DSPs created by remote IO are displayed as 'X'. Figure 1 shows
the display of DSP1 created by CI820, DSP8 created by DI820 and DSP9 created
direct. The “Value on Target” show cannot be get and shows a 'X'.

Figure 1. Display DSPs

Circumstances when the problem occurs

Terminal values of DSPs created by remote IO are displayed can be added in test
table. The value cannot be displayed.

Possibilities to circumvent the problem

Display values of remote IO e.g. DI820. Don't add terminal values shown with
attribute 'R' in DB Section in Test Table.
This problem occurs in all FCB versions where S800 remote IO can be used.

3BSE080911D201 41
Function Chart Builder Section 4 Known Problems

AF100 OPC Server data not updated after online change with FCB in some
cases, Status Report 3BDS011400
Online change of FCB doesn't lead to update of AF100 OPC Server data in some
cases.
After online change in FCB changed values are normally available in the AF 100
OPC Server. In some cases this don’t happen. In case of using AF 100 OPC Server
together with Operate IT / Process Portal A this means that even after a new upload
the changed values are not visible in Plant Explorer. In FCB the changed values are
visible.
The reason is that the MDB file is not updated during online change in some cases.
Circumstances when the problem occurs, e.g. cases where the problem has been
seen:
• Online change of DIS650: NORM_POS
In a CPU redundancy system following erroneous behavior exist:
If the NORM_POS of a DI650 channel element is set to 0, the event/alarm messages
on an OPC client are correct, fitting to the signal values. After an online change of
NORM_POS to "1", the messages still correlates to "NORM_POS =0”. E.g. a signal
change from 1 to 0 leads to SOE message “NORMAL” and a 0/1 change to
“ALARM” instead vice versa.
• Create DAT_MMI e.g. DAT_AI online, connect to DAT (new online create),
connect to existing DSP in online mode. Save and load this change.
DAT_AI element not configured in OPC Server / not created in Control
Structure of Process Portal A.
• Change EVS, Create DAT_*, DAT, DSP in online mode. Save and load this
change.
MMI DB elements not visible in MDB.
All these cases occurred but cannot be reproduced.
This problem can occur for different FCB versions. It has been seen in various
versions of AF 100 OPC server e.g. OPC Server 2.2. The problem occurred for
example in FCB 6.1/0 together with AC 160 2.1 and 2.2.

42 3BSE080911D201
Section 4 Known Problems Function Chart Builder

This problem applies to the following products and versions:

Control Builder A (CBA), version <= 1.2/0
Function Chart Builder <= 6.2/0
AMPL Control Configuration (ACC) <= 2.0/0
Function Chart Builder <= 5.0/0
AMPL Control Configuration Advanced (ACC) 1.7/0
Function Chart Builder 4.8/0
AC 160, AC 110, AC 70 all versions.
Function Chart Builder, version 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2.

Workaround
Avoid online changes if you work together with AF 100 OPC Server.
If you use online changes in FCB and the problem occurs it can be circumvented by
switch to offline mode and generate target code. This means a new Target> Load
Application to the controller. Load Application is necessary if you want to do
further changes or see online values in FCB.

Correction
No correction of the problem is available. It will be corrected in a future revision.
Follow the workaround when the problem occurs.

Circuits in Network Environment

If in a network environment more than one user is locating circuits at a certain time
in a node structure, it is possible that the same circuit is located twice (as the
information of located circuits is determined when starting FCB and kept up to date
per session). When a user later starts FCB, he will be warned that some circuit is
located twice.

Zooming
In certain combinations of monitor resolution and zoom factor there will be a
mismatch between text and graphics within function chart representation. In such a

3BSE080911D201 43
Function Chart Builder Section 4 Known Problems

situation the Windows font mapper could not find a font, which exactly matches the
required size. Use a different zoom factor in such cases.

Printing

Footer missing
In some cases part of the footer is missing in your printed documentation. This
depends on the selected printer and the installed printer driver. We have seen that
problem using HP DeskJet using the printer driver delivered by HP. The HP printer
driver limits the printable area on paper.
In this case use the standard Windows printer driver instead. This problem is
common for all Windows applications, for example, Word and Excel. In general you
should look for updates of printer drivers.

All documents may not be printed

All documents may not be printed if more than one type of document is selected in
the “Print” Window.

Workaround
Select only one type of document at a time in the “Print” dialog.

National Characters
National characters can not be used within names of circuits and type circuits.

Special Characters in Source Code

Source code files containing special characters like ^Z, SPACE, TAB after the end
statement may cause error messages during back translation. Such trailing
characters may be created when transferring files via network or when using certain
editors. Remove these characters using an appropriate text editor.

DB Element NETWL
DB source code (*.BAX) for AC 410 or AC 450 including the system DB element
NETWL may report errors during TRDBS command of On-line Builder.

44 3BSE080911D201
Section 4 Known Problems Function Chart Builder

If the specified network parameters do not match the actual values on the node, an
error is reported because these network parameters can not be modified via source
code.

DB Elements AX, CV, DX, and DCU in TCs

The item designation calculation of DB elements AX, CV, DX, and DCU does not
work correctly in some cases if they are used within type circuits.

Backtranslate Connection to Text Constant Containing a Colon

Source code containing PC terminal connections to text constants like
:ACTTEXT1 CD='ABC :XYZ'
or DB terminal descriptions like
:DESCR string1 :string2
cannot be backtranslated correctly.
Avoid using the sequence space - colon in the connection string and terminal
description. Use, for example, the sequence underline - colon instead.

Backtranslate TCS, CIS, NSS Files Containing “Comments”

Source code containing PC terminal connections to text constants like
:ACTTEXT1 CD='ABC--XYZ'
or
:ACTTEXT2 D='ABC(*XYZ*)'
cannot be back translated correctly.
Avoid using the sequence -- in text constants because this sequence is reserved for
designate the start of a comment line in the source code.
Avoid using the sequences (* and *) in text constants because they are reserved for
designate the start and end of a comment in the source code.
Use, for example, the sequence underline - underline instead.

Function Chart Builder Section 4 Known Problems

Recognition of Variant Modules in GSD File, Status Report 9038

This problem concerns usage of the Edit | Create … | From GSD function of the
Profibus Library Editor 6.0/*.
In GSD files the entry Modular_Station=0 specifies a compact PROFIBUS device.
The GSD file of a Compact Profibus Device can include more than one module
definition:
Module="CFG data 1" hexadecimal_values1
EndModule
Module="CFG data 2" hexadecimal_values2
EndModule
...
This kind of module definition can mean
1. The description of the device is divided into several modules, for example, for
attachment of texts. This is used, for example, in GSDs created by Softing and
Bosch.
2. Every module describes one possible variant of the device. Only one module
definition must be selected. This is used, for example, in GSDs created by
Siemens.
While the Profibus Library Editor works fine in case 1, it does not support case 2.
To recognize case 2 inspect the GSD file via a text editor or the Profibus Library
Editor. When you use the Edit | Create … | From GSD function, the Profibus
Library Editor detects whether a GSD file of a compact PROFIBUS device read.
Accordingly, it shows a “Compact Slave” or “Modular Slave” in the Preview
window. In due case, select the View GSD button and inspect the module
definition(s) to see if case 2 is included in GSD. Read especially comments in the
GSD file and read the documentation of the PROFIBUS Device.

Workaround
1. Prepare a backup copy of the original GSD file.

46 3BSE080911D201
Section 4 Known Problems Function Chart Builder

2. Rename the GSD file, for example, in the way that the used variant is included
in the filename.
3. Rename the name of the slave element type after the Model_Name keyword in
the GSD file, for example, in the way that the used variant is included.
4. Remove all module definitions except the used variant from the GSD file. If
more than one variant included in the GSD file has to be used, then create
different GSD files as described above.
5. Create DB element types on the basis of these GSD files.

Usage of Access 97 Database for PROFIBUS Library Editor

The PROFIBUS Library Editor use an MS Access 97 database for storage of data.
In case an experienced user of PROFIBUS Library Editor want to edit this database
this can only be done with MS Access 97. Be aware not to convert this database to a
newer version of MS Access. PROFIBUS Library Editor cannot work with a
converted database.

Edit TIX- and TBX-files with AS100-Edit Editor

File types *.TIX and *.TBX cannot be edited with AS100-Edit Editor. This destroys
this type of files for usage in FCB.

Workaround
Use e.g. NOTEPAD instead.

Environment variable PC$LIB

Cannot be used to redefine its default value, that is C:\PC$LIB (PRC#2287).

Extra “\” in Firewall rule path
When running On-line Builder from a client using PU410 in a server, the firewall in
the server must be configured from the CBA Media. In CBA 1.4 the firewall
configuration will result in a path with an extra "\" after AdvaBNT, see the screen

STEP element, terminal ACTSTA1, ALLACT: DUPCS writes MD at ALLACT

instead of ACTSTA1
Example where the problem occurs:
1. Insert PC4: PCPGM, SEQ, STEP(1,1,0,0,1,4,8,15)
2. Connect PC4.1.1:ALLACT: D=1
3. Connect PC4.1.1:ACTSTA1 :PC4.1.1:ALLACT
4. LPCD ==> the reverence of number of users are written at ACTSTA1 the
MD=1 is written at ACTSTA1 and ALLACT and terminals are connected
5. DUPCS
6. TRPCS ==> error message at terminal ACTSTA1:

The command MDB MYPM1 does not find the PM1 if the name was changed
to MYPM1
The command MDB PM1 works.
If the NAME has been changed to MYPM1, the MDB MYPM1 doesn't find the

Drag and Drop from AAX file into ONB does not work if UNC-Path used
The Drag&Drop of *.aax files into the ONB don't work in case during creation of
system UNC paths were used. The usage of UNC paths is described in the
documentation.

Workaround
Convert the file using the APB. Call TRPCS command.

TRPCS does not show all files in some cases

It may happen the command TRPCS does not show all files. See here the error

DDB for DB Elements with References from Another DB Element

DDB does only delete the selected element and not references in another element
that refers to the selected element.
Example:
Use MDB PIDCON1 to connect terminal AI_ERR to an AI signal. This will add a
format in the database of the AI signal.
DDB PIDCON1 only deletes the PIDCON1, but not the reference in the AI signal
DB Element.

DB Source Code for AI835/AIS835

In TRDBS the value 1 of terminal CJC in AI835 will not be derived to terminal CJC
in AIS835. Instead the default value 0 will be taken if the terminal CJC is not
included in the source code for AIS835.

Work around
In DUDBS specify parameter /NOGD (no general defaults). This will cause that all
terminals of AIS835 are included in the source code. The correct values will be
downloaded when using TRDBS for this source code afterwards.

TRDBS of Bus Extender in Operation Mode

If you try to change the value of terminal TYPE in DB element BE_.. from
DSBC_176 to DSBC_174 the type will not be updated. This is correct, but you will
not get the corresponding error message “Update not allowed in operation mode”.

Address Check in DB Element CI522

The address check within the element itself does not work in configuration mode.
In configuration mode you can specify within a CI522 the same address for
POS_I/SPOS_I as for POS_II/SPOS_II. This is not valid.

DB Element TTDVAR, Terminal REF_INST

If you reference a position independent element at terminal REF_INST (for
example, LF.LR = 6.9) it may happen after creation of other elements and source
code dump and translate that this element is located at an other instance, for
example, 6.25 (because it is position independent). In this case the reference is
pointing to a wrong element. Therefore you should check the reference after
TRDBS.

LPCD
In a very special situation the LPCD gets stuck at “preparing page”.
You have to reboot the Engineering Board to stop it.

Work around
If this happened, modify the page layout parameters by help of SEPS to get a
slightly different page layout.

Cancel of Modification of Position/Subpos in Operation Mode

When POSITION or SUBPOS is modified in command CRDB in operation mode
and you press <ALT-B> to cancel modification, the POSITION/SUBPOS is still
marked occupied in section Module Positions in DB element AC410/AC450.

DB Element DSBC_176 and DSBC_174

When trying to change terminal TYPE from DSBC_176 to DSBC_174 in operation
mode, the action will not be performed, which is correct, because update is not
allowed.
But no error message is shown that update is not allowed. The error message is
missing.

National Characters
When creating a project you can specify the national character setting. This setting
cannot be changed once the project is created. If you want to see which national
characters you specified for the project, use the Help | On Project dialog.
If you want to change the national character setting create a new project. Then,
copy the nodes, circuits and type circuits – if there are any – from the old project
to the new project.

Correspondence of Force Values to Conditions on Target
The values of the Test Table, first of all in the Values on Target column, and the test
values in the PC Section windows reflect the conditions on the target at the last
transfer of values from the target to the AS 100ES. The date and time of the recent
transfer is shown by the time stamp.
The transfer is triggered explicitly by Test | Single Display and Test | Cyclic Display
commands or implicitly after forcing if defined so.
To ensure that values reflect conditions on the target and to avoid getting confused
by old values, either do not select Force Only in the Activate Force Values dialog
box when forcing, or execute also a Test | Single Display (or Test | Cyclic Display)
after forcing.

Uninstall Libraries Before Un-installation of FCB

Before uninstalling a Function Chart Builder version, uninstall the libraries that are
used by it.

On-line Builder
General Default Handling in DB Source Code
Each General Default which is different from the General Default defined in the
system is stored, the number of user defined General Defaults is limited to 400.
If this limit is reached the message “NO MORE PLACE FOR GEN DEF
SPECIFICATIONS” is given during source code translation.
Please notice that the notation 1.000000E+02 is different to the system defined
value 100.
To reduce the number of User defined default values use notations which are given
by the system, for example, use notation 100 instead of 1.000000E+02 or 0 instead
of 0.000000E+00.

Usage of Older ONB Version

Once you have used this On-line Builder version for a target system, never use an
older On-line Builder version for that target again.
Using older tool versions again at the same target may lead to inconsistent or
corrupt User Disks and Databases.
