The given graph details the number of books read by men and women at Burnaby Public Library in the period
of 2011 and 2014.

Overall, it can be seen apparently from the graph that the number of women who continued reading had a
tendency to decrease while there was an upward trend in that of men.

As shown in the graph, at the beginning of 2011, the number of books read by women was around 5000 and
this number tended to increase to 10000 books in 2013, which is a substantial figure. In the next year, this
ratio saw a dramatic fall in the proportion of books taken by women. In general, the figure of books read by
female showed signs of fluctuation.

Contrary to that of female, the number of books read by men started with an amount of around 3000, which
was about 2000 books lower. In the meantime, the portion of books read by male experienced a prompt and
considerable growth in the same period from 3000 books in 2011 to 10000 books in 2013 and reached its
topmost height of 14000 books in 2014.
