The Public Finance Program at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan is currently
accepting applications for September 2023 enrollment. We look forward to receiving your application.
The Public Finance Program consists of two courses; the Tax course and the Customs course, whose major objective
is to provide students with the conceptual understanding and technical competence to become leaders in the area of
taxation and customs. The Tax course is a one-year master’s degree program which is designed for government
officials from developing countries, who are currently working in tax administration, with at least three years of work
experience in tax policy and administration in the home country.
The Tax course is offered under the full support of the World Bank Scholarships Program. The World Bank awards a
number of scholarships which provide qualified students with full tuition, airfare to and from Japan, monthly stipend
and some other expenses. Selection for enrollment is on a competitive basis. For more details about Tax course, please

The applicant should fill out and submit the Registration Form (https://webentry.grips.ac.jp/entry_form/

The applicant must then download the designated forms from the web page “How to Apply”
(https://www.grips.ac.jp/en/admissions/apply/), and send a complete set of his/her required/supporting
documents by March 3, 2023 (JST).
