Prerequisites:
• A connected servo drive +24V
• A PC with installed operating software Drive Administrator 5.4.56
• An USB cable interface or an Ethernet cable
• A Servo motor with resolver connected to the servo drive
• A data set file or a commissioning file customized for the intended application
• A valid setting list for verification of the parameter set up

1. Establish a connection and start a new project

Start the program Drive Administrator 5.4.56. During start up this dialog box appears.

Select “Create a new

project” and press “OK“
button.

Enter a suitable name of the project in the field “Project

name”, e.g. Tuapse 1-Pilot, Tuapse1-Main or Tuapse1-VGV
depending on the application.

Then press “OK” button

To establish a connection with the driver, you need to select

USB or TCP/IP, and then press OK button.

If you choose TCP/IP connection, please follow step 1.1 to

1.10 below. If you choose USB, click OK button and skip
step 1.1 – 1.10.

2. Parameterize the servo drive

A drive installed with firmware version V2 is parameterized with a data set file (.dmdvadj).
The firmware version must be V2.20-01before the file is loaded into the drive.

A drive installed with firmware version V123 or V124 is parameterized with a commissioning
file (.comdvarc). The commissioning file automatically updates the firmware version to
V124.00-05 and sets the parameters in one step.

First check the firmware version

by pressing the “Drive
description” button.

6. Test run speed limitation

Before the first test run assure that:

• The servo drive is loaded with a correct parameter setup for the actual application
• The maximum motor speed is temporarily limited.

8. Diagnose

The servo drive is equipped with a display indicating different system states. Under normal
conditions and with no errors the drive indicates one of system states as follows:

Automatic initializing during start up of device

Drive enabled, ready for set point

In case of a fault the display indicates “Er” followed by a decimal No describing the type of
fault and then a second No describing the location of the fault. The error message will
alternately be displayed in a flashing sequence. In this example the fault means:

Error number 05=Over current

Error location 01=Software monitoring

The flashing codes are described in the operational manual.

At the same time the fault appears in Drive Administrator when online. A pop-up window is
opened with further information about the fault.

9. Technical notes

9.1 Restart of servo drive

Sometimes a restart of the servo drive is required. The restart can be done in two ways.
Either by switching off the control voltage +24V for a few seconds or online via the Drive
Administrator program.

10. Installation of firmware

If the servo drive’s firmware version differs from V2.20-01 or if the version is V123.05-03, it
must be replaced. To identify current version, see chapter 2.

Firmware versions other than above and beginning with V2.XX-XX must be exchanged to
V2.20-01 using the V2-20-01.hex file.

Firmware version V123.05-03 must be upgraded to V123.15-01 using the V123-15-01.hex

file.

11. Revert the computers TCP/IP settings

If you choose TCP/IP as communication option to the driver, you might want to reset your
computers Network Adapter settings back to its previous settings when you have finished
your work with the Drive Administrator software.

Follow the steps 1.1 to 1.5 above and then

click the options “Obtain an IP address
automatically” and “Obtain DNS server
address automatically”.

Click OK button.
