E290 Zool11 LaboratoryExerciseNo.3

Porifera include sponges which have ostia, incurrent canals, and a spongocoel to draw in water and filter feed. Cnidarians like jellyfish have tentacles to catch prey and a mouth that also serves as an anus. Both poriferans and cnidarians play important roles in ecosystems by filtering water and providing shelter or building complex reefs.
