Workbook Caged System

This document is a workbook for learning the CAGED guitar theory system. It contains 3 sections: 1) Identifying the open CAGED chord shapes and labeling chords by their root notes. 2) Applying the CAGED shapes up the fretboard for different chords. 3) Identifying the corresponding arpeggio, pentatonic, and major scale shapes for each CAGED chord shape. The workbook provides chord diagrams and instructions for students to complete exercises labeling and drawing the various chord, scale, and arpeggio shapes associated with the CAGED system.

1. Using the chord diagrams below, add note markers to create each of the open CAGED
chord shapes.

shape based on the root note positions. For reach diagram below, label each chord based
on the root notes shown.
