History of Hairstyling Assignment

~ The Task ~ Research hairstyles, make-up and fashion from the early centuries to
modern day.

~ The Challenge – Design a presentation using Power Point, Prezi, WORD or


another platform of your choice.

~ The Criteria ~
Title page for each era you have chosen (you should have 5 separate title pages)
10 photos for each of your chosen era (that means 50 photos total)
Detailed write-up for each era (you should have 5 separate write-ups)

~ Part 1~
a- Choose 5 of the following 12 era’s to investigate.
15th Century ~ 16th Century ~ 17th Century ~ 18th Century ~ Victorian Era
1920’s ~ 1930’s ~ 1940’s ~ 1950’s ~ 1960’s ~ 1970’s ~ 1980’
b- For each era you choose your presentation will need to include:
2 photos of female hairstyles
2 photos of female make-up
2 photos of popular female fashion of the day
2 photos of male hairstyles
2 photos of popular male fashion of the day

~ Part 2 ~
For each of your era’s you will need to include a title page and write-up that
describes
- What were the popular hairstyles for men and women of that era?
- What tools and styling aids were used to create the styles?
- What was the make-up trend and any specifics on how it was applied?
- What fashions were making a statement at that point in time?

The Schedule:
Tuesday – Choose your first TWO eras. Research and begin your presentation.
Slide 1 – Cover page for your first era
The next slides will contain your 10 photos that are specific to that era.
The last slide for this era should be your write-up
THEN do it again for your second choice. Starting with a cover page slide.

Wed - Choose era’s 3 and 4 that you would like to research


Add them to your presentation, following the guidelines specified

Thurs – Add your 5th era today. Don’t forget to do the title page and write-up

Fri – Look over your presentation.


Is it easy to follow?
Filled with information and colourful photos?
Has a title page for each era? When you are complete, submit to the Drop Box.
