Waiter: Good morning, Meat and Grill.

Mark: Hello, I’d like a table for this Saturday evening. My family are celebrating my grandmother’s 70th
birthday.
Waiter: Is that 15th March?
Mark: No, I’m looking at the calendar now. This Saturday is the 14th.
Waiter: Of course, sorry. We’re usually quite busy on Saturday evenings. How many people is the table for?
Mark: We need a table for 17 people.
Waiter: I’m afraid that isn’t possible for this Saturday.
Mark: That’s a shame. Well, her birthday’s actually on the following Wednesday, so I can probably change it to
Saturday, 21st March, at 7.30 pm. Is there a table then?
Waiter: Let’s see … Yes, I can give you a table by the window. It’s got a beautiful view of the lake.
Mark: We sat there last year, but it was during the drought, so everything was dry.
Waiter: Well, it rained all winter, so everything is green.
Mark: My grandma will love it. Is the special dish still beef steak in pepper sauce?
Waiter: No, they changed the menu when we got a new chef. Our special dish is now a cooked leg of lamb with
orange sauce.
Mark: Sounds delicious.
Waiter: It is. Can you tell me your name?
Mark: Sure, it’s Mark Beasley. That’s B-E-A-S-L-E-Y.
Waiter: Great.
Mark: Oh, one last thing. I can’t remember the exact address.
Waiter: No problem. Have you got a pen?
Mark: Yes, go ahead.
Waiter: It’s 14 Denmark Street. The entrance is opposite the Salvador Hotel.
Mark: Thanks, see you next week.
