Established relationships: Already established trust in terms of quality and costs - Infosys has

handled over 65 major contracts with PFS and has exceeded expectations.

Cost Savings: Infosys employees are well acquainted with PFS’s IT system as well as the

company’s way of doing business. Hence, initial time of understanding the PFS software would not

be required, which saves on time and money both. Moreover, Infosys reduced the avg number of

corruption incidents per year from 24 to 0.

Infosys’s Value Proposition: Unlike Indian and Chinese competitors, the firm strongly believes in

improving employee productivity rather than just gaining labour savings from moving people

offshore. Resource reduction benefits were given to PFS as 150 surplus Infoscions in Bangalore

were transferred to other PFS projects.

submission and payment processes, Infosys has helped PFS reduce cash reserves that PFS needed
to have on-hand to pay disability claims, by $14 million.
Benefits of Sole Sourcing: Infosys will be able to forgo the Knowledge Transfer time required to
bring programmers up to speed on technical aspects of the system, if they are involved from day
1 rather than bringing them in during the maintenance stage.
Experience in Ariba e-procurement projects: Infosys has initiated 3 end-to-end Ariba e-
procurement system projects within the year that have so far been successful in saving a lot of
money by moving processes online.
