6. A solid glass sphere with radius R and an index of refraction 1.5 is silvered over one hemisphere. A
small object is located on the axis of the sphere at a distance 2R of the left to the vertex of the unsilvered
hemisphere. Find the distance of final image from point P after all refractions and reflections have
taken place.
7. A 20 g bullet pierces through a plate of mass m1 1kg and then come to rest inside a second plate of
mass m2 2.98kg as shown in figure. The two plates were initially at rest and finally they move
with equal velocities. If the percentage loss in the initial velocity of the bullet when it is between
m1 & m2 is p %, then find P. (Neglect any other things)

11. A thermally insulated chamber of volume 2V0 is divided by a frictionless piston of area S into two
equal parts A and B. Part A has an ideal gas at pressure P0 and temperature T0 and in part B is vacuum.
A massless spring of force constant k is connected with piston and the wall of the container as shown.
Initially spring is unstretched. Gas in chamber A is allowed to expand. Let in equilibrium, the spring

13. A horizontal plank has a rectangular block placed on it. The plank starts oscillating vertically and
simple harmonically with an amplitude of 40cm. The block just loses contact with the plank when the
latter is at momentary rest. Then

15. In each of the four situations of Table-1 a stretched string or an organ pipe is given along, with the required
