Finawax o

FINAWAX-O is a refined vegetable oil-based oleamide that functions as a slip agent for polyolefins like polyethylene and polypropylene films. It has a melting point of 73±5°C and is 98% minimum amide content. Only 0.1% of FINAWAX-O is needed to reduce the coefficient of friction between film layers and surfaces in contact with the film for high-speed packaging applications. It can also be used in inks, rubbers, adhesives and coatings. FINAWAX-O has approvals for indirect food contact from organizations like the US FDA and EU.

(Slight variations in the specifications stated due to raw materials and production conditions are possible though they have no
influence on the application properties described.)

FINAWAX-O is a refined vegetable oil based Oleamide. FINAWAX-O is a slip agent for
Polyolefins.

APPLICATIONS:

FINAWAX-O is a high purity – fast blooming Oleamide, suggested as a slip additive in

polyolefin applications.

FINAWAX-O reduces CoF between the layers of the film and also between the film and other
surfaces which are in contact with film.

A very small use level of 0.1% FINAWAX-O will impart required slip properties to Polyolefin
films used for high speed packaging applications.

OTHER APPLICATIONS:

FINAWAX-O is used in printing Inks, rubber compounds, adhesives, coatings, closures and EVA
co-polymers as a surface lubricant in production of Metal articles. FINAWAX-O also improves
penetration, flexibility and slip and seal properties of wax and resin coated paper and
paperboard products.

STORAGE : It is suggested to store FINAWAX-O in a cool and dry place.
Prolonged storage above 35°C can cause caking.

SHELF LIFE : The quality of FINAWAX-O is expected to be within specified

limits for 12 months from the date of production, when stored
under prescribed conditions.

APPROVALS : FINAWAX-O is cleared for use in articles for indirect food

contact by US FDA under CFR 21 under the following sections.

- 21 CFR § 179.45 component of packaging materials for use during irradiation of

pre-packaged foods.
- 21 CFR § 181.28 Release agent in the manufacture of Food Packaging Materials.
- 21 CFR § 178.3910 Surface lubricants used in mfg. of metallic articles used for
food packaging.
- 21 CFR § 177.1350 EVA co-polymers.
- 21 CFR § 179.45 component of packaging material during radiation preservation
of pre-packaged food.

Some of the food contact approvals are:

EU : Oleamide is fully REACh registered

Oleamide is listed in EU Directive 2002/72/EC without limitations. It is approved in EU at a

harmonized level. Single States legislations applicable to individual has been no longer valid
since 1999

Australia : AS 2070/1/01 0.2%

(in PE and PP)

Japan : PE and PP 1.0%

PS, HIPS, SAN, ABS 0.1%
Utensils 2%

PACKING : The standard packing is 25 kg polyethylene bags and 500 kg /

600 kg grounded big bags
