The expedition of Magellan was chronicled in 1519 by Antonio Pigafetta. Even
after the Captain's passing in 1521, he continued to record the events of the
voyage. He was one of the 18 men that, under Juan Sebastián Elcano's
command, boarded the ship Victoria in 1522 to sail back to Spain. He wrote the
document Primo Viaggio Intorno Al Mondo after the journey, which was
distributed to the European nobles.
